My mom has been living here for 8 months. She has dementia. The owners, Dale and Suzanne are not only lovely people, they are dementia experts. Unlike the so called 'luxury assisted living', where it may look fancy-shmancy but everyone is zoned out in wheelchairs, Dale, Suzanne and their carefully picked staff, work to keep the people as independent as possible with lots of tailored, one on one care. It's not fancy, it's a real home; cozy, comfy and very clean. I highly recommend this non-institutional, charming home on the shore of Lake Mahopac.
