Elder Wood Health Care

I cannot say enough good things about Elderwood at Cheektowaga. Both of my parents lived there in the skilled nursing facility for the last two years until their deaths. My Father died in January 2020 and my Mother in April 2020. During their time at Elderwood Cheektowaga, my parents received the best care possible. The staff treated them with professionalism, respect and love in all matters. I cannot imagine a better place for them to have spent the last years of their lives. Thank you!

Would NOT recommend! If you can go somewhere else I would. Understaffed and overworked nursing staff, horrible food and takes forever to get problems resolved. Not to mention if they do not have a transport van available, YOU have to pay to picked up by another company! Save yourself the trouble!

This is the worst place when it comes to communication! We put my mother in-law in there for rehab.. to find out shes gonna need long term cause she is not progressing enough. The meeting with the therapist and social worker was ok the therapist knew a lot more then the social worker! They gave us a application the therapist said if there is availability we would love to have her. The social worker (Diane) says we will talk when he leaves. He leaves she says they hope we apply there they have higher standards. So we turn the application in.. come to find out they dont have a room .. we find out on a Friday afternoon!! How are we suppose to find her a place so late in the day and on a weekend? My husband tells admissions what happened she said well she is knew.. I will take care of that that is fine and dandy but it doesnt do anything for us now!! Its bad when your therapist knows about the senses better then the social worker!! Will NEVER use this place again... whatever you do stay away from this place!! Also took a walk upstairs .. I smelled urine in the hallway.. walked up there again couple days later the smell was still there! Very disappointed!!

My mom has been staying at Elderwood for both rehab & long term care, and they have been terrific. They were very very helpful with the transition and helping us with the financials. They kept us informed through the entire process.
