Touched By A White Dove were indeed a godsend for me too -- I am ashamed it took me so long to write this review. I was at my wit's end with my mum -- her dementia was rapidly progressive yet she was belligerent and sneaky, and I was unable to cope after three years of doing it myself. Carmen and Curtis and their whole family provided patience, kindness, care and a safe home environment that let me get my life and my sanity back -- and for a FRACTION of the cost of many of these large chain facilities that work the guilt angle to the bone. They never made me feel guilty, they only showed ME compassion and understanding and convinced me I was doing the right thing without pressuring me. I know how hard this decision is to make. Please, if you're there -- and struggling with it -- just call and visit.

The folks at Touched by a White Dove were a godsend. Mom lived with them for the last 6 months of her life, and was loved and cared for as if she was their own grandmother. I dont think we could have found a more loving environment for our Mom, who had Alzheimers and suffered the disorientation and confusion common to that ailment. We are happy to recommend Touched by a White Dove without reservation.Mom had been living in a large, national-chain facility where she was lost in the shuffle she was bumped and bruised, clothing went missing, she was not kept clean, etc. She seemed isolated in spite of being with others. Her Alzheimers had gotten to the point that organized activities and sing-alongs meant little, and the care and loving reassurance she needed was not happening she was just another client, not a real person to the rotating staff. We knew she was not getting the care she needed, in spite of constantly escalating costs, but didnt know where to turn. When we found Touched by a White Dove, we felt such relief! I think Mom felt like we had brought her home. She was included in all the normal events of a home, encouraged and helped to take part in activities that were geared to her, and generally treated with so much respect and love. It was wonderful to know she was in a home instead of the place where shed been living, that she was part of a family, not a client. The folks at White Dove were able to merge seamlessly with the other services Mom was receiving (she was on Hospice). The communication was excellent, and we really appreciated the texted updates and photos. Visiting was so much simpler than it had been when Mom was at the big facility, and we were always made to feel like part of a loving family. As Mom neared the end of her days, her caregivers kept in almost constant touch with us, and were so kind and helpful. We appreciated the support that they gave to all of us, not just our Mom.
