The Village at Alameda is a great place if your loved one can be independent. If they only need a small amount of help. Oh and if they don't talk back or stick up for themselves. They have a wonderful staff there except for in management (the director specifically) Don't let them snow you and tell you that they have a small caregiver-to-resident ratio because that is not the truth. They are understaffed and their staff is underpaid for all they do. Countless super hero caregivers left during my mom's stay there and nothing was done to try and keep them. I realize a place like that has a budget to adhere to, but you gotta do what you gotta do to keep the good ones around! My mom is a very strong minded woman....some might call her a handful at times....it is so obvious to us that the best thing in their minds for my mom was to drug her up and stick her in a corner so they didn't have to worry about her anymore. I am happy to say that my mom is in a different facility that doesn't believe in drugging up the elderly and she's only a week off her meds and has made an amazing turn around. Monica is really good at putting on a face. There are reports generated on how quickly the caregivers respond when the resident pushes their button. And Monica lied to me twice....first, she told me there was no such report...then when I pressed a second time she told me she couldn't print it. I have it on good authority from a former employee that they use those reports to make sure the caregivers are doing their jobs and those reports go in their employee file. That is just one example. She needs to be let go and Doralei (the marketing director) should be running that place as she genuinely cares about the residents there. I would not recommend the Village if your loved one needs too much help, but it really is a nice place if your loved one can be somewhat independent. That is all.

The staff at the Village are exceptional! Caring, attentive, helpful and very hard working. They have gone out of their way to engage my mom in activities and social interaction. I am happy we found the Village and would highly recommend it.

My mother and stepfather have made their home at The Village for the last four years. What a wonderful home it has been. The staff has always treated them with such love and compassion. Regardless of their need level, they have always been well taken care of. They have enjoyed the activities, musical entertainment and camaraderie with other residents. I knew from the first day I walked in and met with the staff that this was the perfect place for them. I would highly recommend The Village as a wonderful place for your loved one.

My family was fortunate enough to get my dad a studio apartment here at the Village. From or first encounter with Doral Lei to our departure we knew we had found the right place. Everyone we encountered from the attendants to the nursing staff was polite, professional, and most importantly they displayed a caring attitude and definitely looked after the needs of Dad. Rhonda was amazing in how much time and attention she gave to my dad. The dining room staff provided excellent meals and tried to accommodate the desires of my dad. The nursing staff and med techs worked without error and even brought to our attention an errand medication order from a hospice nurse before it could be administered. For this attention to detail I am grateful. When my dad passed, the staff of the Village was respectful and kind and made us feel like dad was loved by them. The facility manager Monica was quick to respond to our questions and concerns. I feel confident in recommending the Village at Alameda based on our experience there. I would choose them again in a red hot minute!
