The Bristal Assisted Living at Woodcliff Lake

Before anybody brings their loved ones here I would strongly advise them to thoroughly check out the kitchens conditions and food thats being produced out of there. I wouldnt want my loved ones being served food coming out of their based on how much it is to be apart of this community money wise...

Beautifully decorated. All the employees are kind and try their very best. If there is something in need of improvement, management will email back or meet with you and try to address your concerns. Heres the problem areas. The owners are opening a new facility in Wayne. Because the new facility has no experienced management (or as they call them, Directors) They are transferring many of the experienced ''Directors' and lower level employees from this facility to the new facility in Wayne. What does this leave... Inexperienced people, who don't know the system. Which creates it's own set of issues.The other current situation is lack of communication.Caryn the facility director is working to improve things. But, there is one significant area in need of improvement. The dining room - The Bristol kitchen has major issues. They have been trying for months to improve the quality of the meals. Mom and her table mates rate the food as ' not great', most of the time. Occasionally they have a good meal. The kitchen also takes too long to get the food out, which often equates to cold food and annoyed seniors. So far, they haven't been unable to communicate these issues to the food prep or wait staff and improve upon it. But, I am hopeful.On a positive note. There is plenty to do during the day, every day if the residents choose. There are often parties and events and daily trips, arts and crafts, cards, bingo, literary club, Socials, continuing education and much more.Why then the reason for the 3 stars?The high rate of attrition, lack of communication and the kitchen service issues are really the main problems with this organization.If they can figure things out. I will improve my rating.

Worked here for a short amount of time. However the environment was great. Very clean friendly people

Very sickening encounter at this facility with the director of housekeeping and laundry. I addressed a problem with my mothers clothing because it keeps end up missing. I spend alot of money on clothing for my mother. I confronted the director Charmaine in her office. Charmaine is sleeping head down on her desk. Slurring her words like if this women is off of drugs. I told her my mothers clothes keep end up missing she promised to reimbursement me. Which she never did I confronted once again and she just seems to not want to help me. Her eyes are always red she seems out of it. I think random drug test should be given to staff! Its very disappointing when the exterior and interior and the looks and amenities are very up to date food is delicious. Very disappointing
