This place has 24/7 onsite security, free WiFi and free local TV. Residents are given one free parking spot. Location is very nice, close to NJ State Theater, downtown restaurants, train station, food markets and area hospitals. The apartments r short walk across Rt18 to a nice River Park. Seniors can take free Rutgers bus in downtown NBr. They also have onsite doctor who keeps weekly office hours. The apartments host a diverse ethnic population with exSoviet/Russian and Chinese groups dominating the crowd. As for the negatives, the apartments are old, there is no central air (you typically need to purchase your own window AC unit for bedroom as only one unit is given per apartment). There is no heat regulation during winter. It is either On or Off. Windows are antique and the management is not willing to replace them. You often have to wait for the elevator as it gets busy when seniors are assembling to go for day care. Any repairs are slow as they have limited staff of general maintenance crew who often have to outsource more complicated requests to outside contractors. It helps if you give them a small tip to grease the wheel. Your rent price will depend on your income, disability, seniority etc. Residents are required to submit to comprehensive financial review yearly as a part of annual qualification process. Management will periodically inspect your apartment for cleanliness or enter without you being present if needed for repairs/maintenance/security/bug spraying.Overall, Fricano Towers isn't a bad place to live if you're willing to put up with the flip side of this development being a HUD facility.
