I hired Home Instead to assist my sister and her husband during some health issues. Debbie did a consultation and started services promptly after my approval. The staff was professional and friendly. I would recommend this service.

We had a caretaker who got way too involved in our family. She slept 4 hours a night, brought her pillow & blanket! She always told my mom she loved her & would give her kisses when my mom was a germaphobe. I even only kiss my Mom on the upper head basically in her hair & she especially had to come in & kiss her after I would. I complained to the head of the company. Nothing was done. We gave her a key to our house so she could let herself in & we called the company to get it back & the caretaker lied & said she didnt have it bc she knew she would get in trouble. I talked to her husband bc I had a feeling she wasnt taking naps in between jobs & he said she was sleeping bc she hasnt slept in 3 days. I told him that was a lie bc she sleeps 4 hours a night here & my mother would call out to get her & she never came. I would walk by her on the couch to go to my kitchen & she was snoring. She also told me she took pain pills for illnesses she had. I asked her several times if she took a nap b4 coming & she would say oh ya ya I took a 2hour nap. I could tell she was lying & her husband confirmed it. I am very unhappy with this service as they told me they didnt believe she had a key. Basically telling me, the customer who paid for this service, that I am lying. So now I have to pay to have my locks changed! I would not ever use this place again. Also this Caretaker got too close & emotional over nothing. I am an RN, ER with trauma credentials, she would leave crying bc she thought I needed to take my Mom straight to the Dr when she bruised her back. She was fine, could walk & my mother didnt want to go. I did take her to the Dr 2 days later & he said the same thing, didnt even think she needed X-rays. So she went to her office complaining & crying to her manager & called my sister out of state & made a fuss. I believe she lied & called a hotline & said she was a family ember so we wouldnt know it was her. So the police show up & a social worker the next day! Of course they found nothing & said my mom had it pretty good. I Blamed my sister & it caused a lot of added stress & emotional upheaval we did not need. I barely even give this place a 1. That employee still works there. If a customer called the hospital I worked at & said these things I would be fired. Very unhappy with this place! They didnt resolve anything. I dont have the extra money to change my locks! But we have to since the employee lied to her manager & said she never had one bc she knew she would get in trouble. She also told me this as the only place she has worked that let them sleep. The manager said no they arent supposed to be sleeping on the job. I cant belive they still have this employee!
