I just called up there to inquire about visiting a friend of mine and the lady who answered the phone was very rude and shouldnt be working in customer service. She said that giving a patients name is against HIPPA laws. Well lady, I dont need the name, I know my friends name. I just wanted to know the hours or If there was any rules on visiting. Took me 4 times of asking before she finally told me. She explained 3 times she cant give me any information. The only thing I asked was about hours. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone let alone a friend or family.

This place does not even deserve the 1 star I am required to give to write a review. My grandfather was placed here on hospice, he was not even there for two weeks before he passed away. Before he passed, we walked in one evening to find him with his door shut, lights completely turned off, bed raised up in the highest position, and him lying face down on the hardwood floor calling for help! An air mattress was supposed to be at the side of his bed on the floor at ALL times for protection, since side rails on their beds are against policy even for hospice patients, and almost every time we came to visit each day, the air mattress would be moved into the bathroom. Almost as if the air mattress was an inconvenience for the staff, it is NOT about what is convenient for staff! He had a huge bruise and knot on his forehead from it, and a few days after the fall he passed away. I truly believe this form of negligence caused him to decline. This man was on hospice to die, and the staff here couldn't have even taken care of him well enough to keep him comfortable? He was completely bed bound! They claimed they 'just checked on him not too long ago', let alone they, including the NURSES, had no remorse for what happened. Gave us attitude like we were overreacting. Said falls happen 'all the time'. NO, this was PURE NEGLIGENCE and nobody should ever have to fall or be injured at a nursing home, they are there to get taken care of. You should be ashamed, and your staff clearly are not trained well if they don't even know the standard safety precautions taken such as lowering a bed before leaving a resident! We found my grandfather on the floor of his room, how many times do you think these things happen to your loved one when you are not even there to see them? I am sure Delmar Gardens would not even report or tell you if something like that did happen.

This place is way under staffed. Overheard the staff tell a paralyzed man there for Rehab that they don't have time to get him up all day. This is rehab, how is he going to get stronger laying in bed all day? Food comes out cold. Clean place but they need way more staff to run this place safely. The Nurses give medication and then you don't see them anymore, they are not on the floor assisting residents.
