Bishop Spencer's assisted living care is easily the best in Kansas City. Almost zero staff turnover (people love and keep their jobs) with attentive thoughtful care from the same familiar, kind faces, most of whom are registered nurses, makes for a safe environment. Their precautions for COVID have been top notch, with zero problems. I find it one of the safest environments in town during COVID, despite being a care facility. The day to day social workers, cleaners, nursing staff up to the top administration are all responsive, bright, helpful and available. Every issue, and there are few, is solved immediately. They all work seamlessly together as a very efficient team and family. Can't really say enough good things about them. Even the food is good.

Mother in Law was there for rehab after a hospital stay. After 30 days, they kicked her out because she wasn't able to progress in rehab & their office staff determined she would live 3 more years, but outlive her savings by a couple of months. They want no Medicaid residents. She passed away within 60 days after being transfered to a nursing home who cared about their residents whether they are private pay or on medicaid. Five months after she transferred received a bill for almost $600 with absolutely no detail. Three times I requested in writing detail for the invoive but received none. The manager of the billing area will not return calls. Rehab care was fine except quality deteriorated every weekend. Would encourage you to think twice before you use this facility for your loved ones. Don't be mislead by the piano & flowers on the main floor! It's the care & quality business practices that count.

Nope, not the place it's cracked up to be. 5 stars on the Medicare.gov website has nothing to do with what really goes on. Several bad experiences, therapy is the worst I have seen out of 6 different rehabs my family member was in. Wound care is a nurse walking around with a box of bandaids. Resident Doctors? Ha might as well be the shower staff as they pay the most attention to their patients. Double check everything and stay with your family member if at all possible!
