Dixon Nursing & Rehab

This place is a dump! Do not put your loved one there. Residents sit in wheelchairs in soiled clothes for hours, most look sedated. Management is a joke. There are no cameras for residents safety, no locks on resident doors, and no phones in rooms. Facility is understaffed and under qualified to care for residents. Would not recommend.

My husband was there one week and i had to transfer him to a better nursing facility. The place is so out of date and dirty. No mechanical beds and he required one. The wheel chair must have been from the 70s and hurt him so bad to sit in it plus it was a youth size and my husband is over 6 ft. tall, also the bed wss too short for him and with him having a stroke it messed up his bad leg and foot. One nurse was a total B----H and snapped at me saying she wss 4 hrs. late and thats why she wss late getting him taken care.....I wa like WTF. The food is nasty and thr portions small. The CNAs were nice but PT did not show them how to transfer him from bed to wheel chair ans so forth so he got drug around in bed. He required 2 people to move him but they never had enough staff to have 2 people to move him. One day they actually had a dwarf trying to get my 6 ft. Husband out of the bed, she hurt his bad arm and nearly dropped him. The whole place needs a total overhaul and updated, it is such a depressing place. They park everyone in the hallway and thats where they sit all day. He was not bathed while he was there and he would soil his depends, they wiped him with wet cloths but he had stool dried to him so bad that it toik the new nursing home forever to get it removed from his skin which was inected with thrush. My and husband are extremely happy with the place hes in now. Its bright and cheery and totally state of the art, with electric beds and great staff. People need to quit seeing the 4.5 stars this place is rated at cause that is with only 2 people writting a review and there are ambulatory people living there cause they are homeless so of course theyll write a good review and give it 4 or 5 stars. I dont normally write reviews but i felt i had to on this one. People need to know what conditions they're loved ones are going to. Thank you

Would never use or recommend this place ,it's old and the staff to me are only interested in a pay check. Not very clean ,food look horrible,the place smelt.

Not a Nursing home that i would recommend. There is an obvious negative attitude between management and employees that is apparent to visitors. I could tell the CNAs around me really cared about the residents as they were doing what they could to make each resident know they are cared about. But as i sat with a friend in the common area i could hear the way management spoke to the lower level workers. Negative Comments and attitude should be made private as family and friends of loved ones who are either living there or visiting the facility do not need to hear this. It is obvious there are too many people who think they are in charge when it comes to the way the employees understand their duties. Perhaps a meeting with the front office and nursing care regarding this could resolve that issue. The smell of urine was very strong when i first came into the facility. They tried to cover it up but it was very strong. Garbage bags lined the halls.
