I worked here for nearly 20 years. I learned so much, and it shaped my career and practice as a nurse. The Mabelle facility is breathtakingly beautiful. I was proud to be an employee. My mother also spent her last days here. Upper management's behavior and decisions were questionable at times, but overall, my experience was positive, and I will never forget the fond memories I have.

A new very modern and beautiful facility. Large single carpeted rooms with nice furniture and large windows, ensuite bathrooms, quiet extra wide carpeted hall ways. Large nicely furnished dining rooms each with their own kitchen and staff, large gathering rooms, large windows throughout, exercise rooms, visitor friendly, nice landscaping. Very clean and fresh smelling. Could have more staff on duty.

In my opinion, and I am not a healthcare expert, it is not in your family member's best interest to stay here. I base this assessment on what happened to my parent while staying here for a short-term/rehab stay after a hospitalization. Over a period of 15 days, my parent's urinary catheter tube broke twice and a portion of the catheter remained in their bladder. The urologist who performed two surgeries to remove the remnants said that the likelihood of having a plastic catheter tube snap/crack is likely 'one in a hundred million.' If I lived in the Fergus area and needed short-term or long-term elder care, I'd use the nursing home that starts with a 'B'.
