The management at this branch is despicable. Brenda and Marguerite are very unprofessional, and seem to forget that they are in the medical field and dealing with human beings. One of them dresses like Julia Roberts at the beginning of Pretty Woman.

Smoke and mirrors. The place is really pretty and they exceed in making a favorable first impression. For instance a sign requesting you check in with the front desk to be announced. (That never happened). During a tour the staff giving the tour will say hello to other residents and refer to each of them by name when walking past. These pleasantries are however limited to only when visitors or tours are occurring. During the tour they boast about a daily check in system where the resident pushes a button on the wall in their unit to notify the staff they are ok. My loved one didnt push the button one time in over 3 years and no one ever checked to see that she was ok.Brookdale states that their facility has concierge services, but wont even deliver packages to a residents apartment. Housekeeping does a poor job as was evidenced by thick coverings of dust on furniture and photo frames. The facilities transportation staff are not patient and will not even hold the door to the building where the resident is going. Rather they stress the service is curb to curb not door to door. The food served is fair, but is never hot. Residents are required to sit in assigned seats and at the same table for dinner. If a resident is late for dinner due to an appointment or any reason they are seated alone rather than being included at an open space at another table. The serving staff are horrible. They are not welcoming, they are not kind, and they are not patient. Frequently, they roll their eyes and look away while waiting for a resident to place their order. It made me very angry that this was my loved ones home and she was required to fit into their regimented routine/expectations. Last but not least, their emergency pendent system is touted as a way to assure your loved one will receive help if they ever need it. The third party comfort care who provides the response staff for this alert system drops the ball more often than not. While I recognize Brookdale doesnt manage Comforcare, they endorse their service by having them as the first responders to the pendent. Many of the Comforcare staff have residents use the pendent as a way to signal they are ready to return to their room from a meal rather than reserving its use for only and emergency. When the resident uses the pendent during a time Comforcare doesnt want them to, the resident is charged a hefty fee. Finding a senior living community is hard. Unless the senior is truly independent, consistently and effectively advocates for themselves, this faculty will be a source of disappointment and frustration.

A horror story. This place is the absolute last place you should send your loved ones. My parents were both here for a short period of time. My mom died and my helpless dad was left to endure neglect and abuse by their night staff. The.night people never showed up to help my dad, leaving him soaking wet in his diaper. They marked in advance on his chart that they came to his room to check on him at night, but were never there. Our private nurse told us she would find him freezing cold with wet sheets in the morning. When I confronted the management I was told that I was mistaken and my facts were inaccurate. I finally spent the night and witnessed first hand that the night staff never showed up despite multiple calls. I confronted the night staff and was told to f off by a nasty young girl. When I complained again to management they sided with the night staff member telling me that it was at fault. My dad would cry when I left and told me that one of the night girls was especially cruel and mean. He told me she yelled at him to get up after he fell, mocking him. After speaking to other tenants, I learned that this was commonplace. We pulled dad out as soon as we could. This place should be investigated by the state. STAY AWAY!
