I have been working at ManorCare for 3 years and it has been a wonderful experience. Prior to working for ManorCare I worked as an ICU nurse for 20+ years, which included a stretch as a traveling ICU nurse. I have never worked with a more caring group of people, it's more like family than a job. The Nursing and Rehab departments truly work toward patients goals, which for the most part is 'Going back home' and to be successful in doing so. The Nursing department of which I am part of is truly a wealth of knowledge. With these Departments working in tandem I have seen first hand how remarkable the ManorCare Staff is. And that is a winning combination in my book. I would recommend ManorCare to anyone who requires Rehab or Medical management including wound care. It truly is a shining star. And I am proud to work with such great group of people.

Hi my name is Pam Reno I had an emergency operation on July 2nd at Bellin hospital my femur bone was split all the way up so a whole new hip replacement was necessary. I was in terrible pain when I arrived. Although they had no idea I was coming, they made my transition very smooth. The nurses and CNA'S where amazing. But I would like to say that their physical therapy was unsurpassed they helped me muscle through when I didn't think I was capable, with laughter and caring hands they had me going up stairs and walking with walker and cane. I spent 2/1/2 weeks under excellent care.I would like to say thank you to all that were involved with my recover

I have been working at Manor Care as a CENA for 15 years. I have learned allot and met many wonderful people, through the years. What I have learned is that the facility goes all the way too make the resident and family feel welcomed and cared for.

I am a current patient at ManorCare. Save for two friendly nurses, I'm not happy with my care at all. You see, not only have I been employed at about every nursing home in Marquette County myself, but went on to obtain my degree in a health-related field, as well as being trained in phlebotomy and basic sterile laboratory techniques. ManorCare was portrayed to me as a stellar rehab center that would benefit a coexisting neuromuscular disease I suffer from but would be a benefit to getting accustomed to my TPN (full-time IV nutrition). The very first nurse I came in contact with in regard to the TPN, upon questions asked by me about it as it's so new to me, took it as an insult and began to treat me like a petulant child and threatened to NOT turn it on at all. The TPN is designed to keep me ALIVE and to NOT turn it on at all would be negligent, as well as criminal, seeing as it's the only reason I'm even here, 90 minutes from my home and loved ones. The TPN access ports need to be ultra-sterile and capped off with a new cap after each use, and such caps aren't even available in the whole facility. Infection control is of utmost importance because the lines lead to a Medi-port placed under my skin next to my heart. These uncapped ports are exposed to very germ-laden things, such as lying exposed on a toilet seat shared with me by three incontinent patients in an already 'less than clean' bathroom, despite still having open surgical wounds, etc. I was told germicidal soap or wipes are NOT provided. Also, I have requested a soft pureed diet to accommodate another recent serious surgery, and rather than getting what I've requested, either get something as ridiculous as a CRUMBLED-UP DRY PANCAKE or things totally unidentifiable. How difficult is broth and mashed potatoes/gravy, etc.? Finally, the facility is NOT clean. I spilled something on the floor and it sat there three days until a nurse saw it and swept it up. I've been here almost five days and my bed has NOT been changed or even made ONCE. The floors are filthy and only swept, having not been mopped the whole while I've been here. I need to use wipes on my filthy feet before getting back into bed. The fact that over two-thirds of the positive reviews here have been left by employees doesn't negate the fact this place needs a LOT of work.... A lot of work. My DOG gets better treatment at home. Get it together, kids...
