Island Pines Assisted Living is one of the best assisted livings. The owners treat their employees like their own family. The manager is also hands on and goes above and beyond the call of duty. Go Team!

If I could give less I would. Toni is the manager here. No medical background. Thinks she knows everything. Refuses any input given by you if she disagrees with you, even if you are P.A. Will never let you have the last say even if it is with your own family. Chain smokes cigarettes while talking out in the garage, even if theres things needed to be done or people to be looked after.Laura is the owner. Has a medical background. Is RARLEY ever here at the house regardless of what she says, shes rarley there. Handles your money but benefits you in no other way but supplying housing to your family or friend that is looking for a nice elderly home.I cant even describe the things that I've seen and heard.I use to be an employee here. If you are thinking about putting your family member in this house I would strongly advise against it.It's not a home. You might second guess your gut feeling looking at this place but I'm telling you the residents get ZERO excercise and everything g goes according to Toni's schedule. It's not a home. The turn over rate in the house is insane and for some reason it's always the employees , family member to a resident or the residents fault and NEVER managment or the owners fault.I would put more but I am required to abide by HIPPA Law and I dont want to cross any lines or boundaries. Zero stars. My opinion.

As a former employee I can guarantee I never did very important safety training. As the only person on my shift that is VERY concerning. Also, management is unorganized, out of touch with both residents and the employees that work there daily. This AFC has been in trouble with the state before for not having proper employee documentation, which I discovered in the LARA report on the internet. I will not link it because I do not want to reveal personal information about the owner of Island pines, but it is on google if you want to do your research on this matter. The living conditions are better than a hospital, but the only manager on site 99.9% of the time does not have a medical background. It would be better to put your loved one somewhere where at least the on site manager knows what theyre talking about and doesnt shut down employees / family members and P.O.As with more experience than herself.
