My Mother is In Brookdale in Davison for Assisted Living, my brother called me this morning to tell me that my Mother is in the Genesys Hospital. First of all, I am her Guardian and am to be contacted first and only and was not contacted at all by anyone except my brother. I called Brookdale, asking for whom I thought was in charge and was told she is no longer there, they are looking for someone to replace her so I asked for the nurse, Theresa and was told she was now working from home! Let me get this straight, she's the nurse of an assisted living home and she's working from home??? I asked the person that gave me this information, what his title was and he said he was a Salesman and he was in charge at the time! I said then, why did someone call the ambulance, they said my mom didn't know what channel her show was on and was asking about her mother (that's not really different than what we put her in there for) and who gave them permission to send her to the ER? They were to call me and only me. The salesman couldn't tell me who made that decision. I finally got ahold of the Genesys ER and after 2 hours a doctor called back to tell me that she has a brain bleed and has had a stroke but he didn't know how long ago it had happened. The reason I'm not down there is because we live 3 hours away and they should be able to communicate through the phone. My Mother has been having headaches for months and we have been communicating with Brookdale regarding this. They said they would have the in house doctor look at her and possibly run some tests. They let us know that the doctor prescribed migraine meds and Anacin and now we find out that they didn't do any tests, just prescribed meds!! There is no health care in that assisted living home and there is no staff. The last time we visited her at Christmas, there was only 5 people living there and only 2 staff members. Something is wrong with that whole picture for $3500.00 a month!!! Looking in to moving her asap!

My mom had a stroke and needs alot of care. We moved her to Brookdale in Davison at the end of July 2016. The employees there are incredible. We had many needs coming in and they all did their best to make her feel welcome. My mom loves the food there and participates in the many events that they have available. It is always clean and quiet too. I would highly recommend this place !
