I would like to list strengths at Pioneer Ridge: 1) One of the best doctors in the Lawrence community, Dr. Eric A. Huerter, is onboard once a week and on call to assist residents. 2) There are longstanding employees who truly care about residents. 3) Management continues to encourage life for residents with physical therapy, entertainment, and trips 4) A cook who cares. Our family is very grateful for the loving care given to my sister. I agree there have been staffing vacancies and challenges but believe it is improving and I do not know of a business that does not experience this, especially one as complex as a residential home healthcare facility. Much of the hard work is thankless.

Always short staffed. Money has come up missing out of my moms wallet several times. Perfume, expensive perfume , was stolen within a week. I, as her poa, was not informed of this latest theft or what they are doing about it.

Terrible facility. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. Short staffed always and it is clear most of them do their job only to stay under radar with Management. The Administrator and Social worker will absolutely lie to resident and family to further their own agenda. My loved one, (who is 93 and had received a concussion in this facility) was told to sign paperwork when she was moved to rapid recovery because she changed rooms. What she actually signed was a Durable Power of Attorney to another family member who is herself not mentally competent. Completely supported and encouraged by Management at Pioneer Ridge. Fortunately my Mother is no longer in that facility and being well cared for in her new home. I spoke with other residents when I was visiting there and never got good feedback from any of them. Go there yourself (unannounced) and visit with current residents before you even consider this facility.
