First, the nurses were all wonderful, and one in particular who went out of her way to be honest with us about my brother's decline. We had been in discussions with the administrative end a couple of days before my brother was sent back to the hospital and clearly dying, and so my husband and I were overwhelmed with that when I got a phone call from two of the administrators demanding my husband and I come in that afternoon, period, with a check for ten grand, or else, and then the finance person kept telling me my brother's funds he'd asked us to take out of his account for his funeral were 'irrevocable' (therefore would have to be applied to his care at Autumn Woods), and when I kept telling her the funeral cost was beside the point as we would pay for that if it came down to it, but she kept hammering away at that point, becoming increasingly angry and hostile with me. I'd received a call that morning from the manager saying we needed to come in to discuss discharge from the hospital, and because I was also trying to get in touch with my brother's doctor and social worker to determine his immediate status, I didn't call her back right away, but I did phone both the finance office and the manager that afternoon, whereupon they launched into extremely hostile diatribes saying I'd been 'unresponsive' and kept demanding we come in right now with a check for ten grand. Apart from my shock at their demands and attitude, I was also shocked that they'd increased the fee by $3000, having quoted a price of $7500 just a week and a half before, which they denied.... 'WHO TOLD YOU THAT!' The finance woman demanded, and they both as much said I was lying. My brother has probably a week to live, and we don't know whether he is even able to be moved right now, and that didn't move either of them as they continued to demand we come in RIGHT NOW, before the end of the day with a check for ten grand.... And that they chose that moment to even have a discussion with me about a funeral for my brother was beyond the pale. These two should be fired. Appalling, the whole thing. I would never recommend this place just for that. It's unfortunate that these people would speak to a family member in this way about a loved one. Shame on them. The nurses, again, were lovely.

The staff on Legacy Lane are caring and interact with the residents well.

I have volunteered my time at Autumn Woods for the last decade! The resident are always fully engaged with all staff and seem super happy. The life enrichment department is great and if they do not have the activity your loved one likes, they will ensure they make it happen!I have had many interactions with all the other staff as well. The nursing department is always super and fast when responding to a call light that is going off. I have seen the leaders of the campus answer the lights and help the residents as well. This says A LOT about the people they employee. The food I have seen being served from the kitchen always looks so delicious and makes me hungry, even if I had just ate. The facility is very clean despite being over 20 years old! I have never smelled any foul smells, unlike other long term care facilities I have volunteered my time in as well. If I ever had to find a place for my loved one, I would not want to take them anywhere else but Autumn Woods!

I have worked for Autumn Woods for nearly 13 years and am proud to say so. There is quality staff in all departments. Paying in advance is required when patients do not qualify for a Medicare, Medicaid or insurance paid stay. The therapy department has staff who have been there for 8-18 years. My mother has also been a resident there and received good care from attentive staff. I would always recommend this campus.
