My 91 year old father recently became quite ill and was in and out of the hospital from December 28 - January 27. We knew he was not able to return to his home until he had his strength back. I had the terrible task of telling him I thought he needed to go to a Nursing Home. I made a point of telling him we just needed him to get strong enough to go home and to be able to enjoy his life like he did before December 2019. He was devastated by the thought of being put in a Nursing Home. He had always been so independent and able to take care of himself. When I had to leave him at Mitchell Manor the day he arrived, I was broken hearted. And he was sad. But I can honestly tell everyone that it was the best move I could have made. My Dad walked out of Mitchell Manor on February the 7th a new man. He had strengthened his body (arms and legs) through their wonderful physical therapy program. He was served three nourishing and delicious meals a day. They made sure his medicine was given out in a timely manner. And he socialized with both the staff and other residents at the Facility. With every visit and phone call I could see and hear the strength coming back. He sounded and looked younger and like his old self! It was amazing. And he will also tell you that it was just what he needed. No one wants to go into a Nursing Home, but if I ever had to go to one, I would hope that it had the loving, caring staff the Mitchell Manor has. They treat their residents like family and by the time Dad left he knew all of their names and who their parents and grandparents were. I have not seen my Dad socialize that much since Mom passed away in May of 2016. I think they all enjoyed the history he shared with them of Orange and Lawrence Counties. I have no regrets of signing him into Mitchell Manor and I know he has no regrets of being there. I would like to thank everyone that works at Mitchell Manor for taking such good care of my Dad. From Natasha who talked me through the entire process to the many that made sure Dad had a fresh glass of ice water every time they walked by his room. The Physical Therapy Staff were amazing. They knew just how to get Dad to participate in the exercises his body needed. Dr. Lopez for checking in on him. His nurse for getting his meds to him. I wish I could personally thank everyone, but YOU ALL know what an impact you made on 'Jay's' life. None of you will ever be forgotten by our family. You were ALL there at a time in our lives when we did not know what to do. Thanks from the bottoms of our hearts!

Mitchell Manor took very good care of my mother. The staff was willing to listen to my concerns and help work through them. Mother interacted with the other residents, the staff and enjoyed the activities. She liked playing Bingo and couldn't hardly wait to go. She always ate everything that was brought to her, I also would sometimes eat with her and found the food very good. My mother was 93 when she was called to her Heavenly Home and everyone at Mitchell Manor helped us through a very tough time.

Both my grandparents have been residents for the past 4 months permanently. They also have stayed in the past for rehab and PT issues. Im glad to say that they receive awesome care from very compassionate professional people. The PT department and OT are dedicated to patients recovery. The nurses and aids are extremely nice and knowledgeable. Im welcomed by name and smiles and my grandparents have met other residents and caregivers that they call friends. My grandmother goes to activities, current events, bingo, movies and sometimes outings. Unfortunately my grandfather can not. It gives me a piece of mind knowing that they are in great hands. I love my grandparents deeply and I will continue to make the best decisions to keep them safe, healthy and happy. On the flip side, my grandparents sometimes says the food is blah! Lol

My first experience working in long term care was at Mitchell Manor. I loved it there. The level of care was amazing. I can not say enough good things about the employees and the dedication to providing skilled qualified care to the residents. A great place to work and and an excellent facility.
