I have worked on a professional basis with this facility. Although it's not perfect it is an excellent alternative to homelessness or jail. They have on-site psychiatric care lots of books games TV music art and haircuts. The residence are safe, fed and clothed and have a lot of freedom. There's a McDonald's and grocery store down the street and it's not far from the beach. I have placed several clients there in the past who are still there and report having been treated well and have made lifelong friends.

Ive worked for Miller Beach since I was in high school. And the job is like my second family. I enjoy my co workers and I also enjoy the residents. They can really make my day sometimes.

While I was grateful to be able to have a roof over my head and a place to shower, I will say for the mostpart the employees were nice, although some had attitudes. The food I can say was mostly tasteless and cold eggs/toast usually every single morning, I honestly found the food at ever meal revolting and as a result lost 20 pounds off my 140 pound body. For the amount of SSI Disability money they received from each person each month I have the inclination to say the food and rooming should have been better. Bedbugs and mice in the building also.

worst place to work and for a resident to live. the bldg smells like mold they have mice.The suppose to be nurse PEGGY is not professional and too me don't care for black people. The residents don't have no say can't use the phoneI and they dont have soap or deodorant

Oriented as NURSE for one day!! 3-11p...horrible place they ALLOW NURSES TO SMOKE IN THE NURSE'S STATION!! I was blown away... the nurse Donna smoked before 3pm med pass, after and before 9pm med pass. I have allergies and she just continued to smoke. I left the the shift at 8pm. she literally smokes me ouuta there qith the chain smoking! l left message for DON to call me to discuss some concerns. LOL she called me the next day and said they were lettinge go! How??? I had already left...it was easy and supplement income but not worth my health!!
