My mom was first put in memory care and all they wanted to do is heavy medicate her for their convenience. My mom suffered from dementia and loved her baby doll. The staff took her baby and threw it up on the kitchen cabinet. After searching her room for days and asking the staff where here baby doll was they said they didnt know. I asked for help from the maintenance guy and he found it on top of the kitchen cabinet. What sick person would take something away that comforted my mom. I made so may complaints to the director which they shared with the staff which in turn made it 100 times worse for my mom. She ended up getting bruises and skin tears which they could not explain what happened. They then moved her to another unit which was horrific. My mom used a Walker and they took it away from her and forced her to sit pushing her down so she lost her ability to walk. I went there every day to feed her to make sure she got fed. Believe me I scheduled a million meetings that went on deaf ears. My mom was moved again to an even more horrific environment. She sat in her wet soiled depend, left in her room unattended, when I said to the nurse she should never be left alone the CNA said they do it all the time. Again, had several meeting expressing my concerns and nothing was done. To them, I was a complainer, they could of cared less regarding my concerns about the care my mom was receiving. You have to be there all the time to actually see what goes on each and every day.Yes, I took my mom home and she was happy, clean, loved and had her baby all the time. Found a wonderful caregiver that loved my mom and took such good care of her.Sharing my experience so that no one has to experience this for their loved one.

Please tell your managers / supervisors in all departments from Health care , Assisted living, dining , maintenance, housekeeping, ETC..... to NOT bully their employees to working over time. If you are short staffed, and an employee says they can not work double shifts. They cant. They do not have to explain why. Most employees have second jobs, or families to take care of as well. With this pandemic going on, no employee should feel they have to risk their health, sleep and sanity to please the manager/ supervisor. And they should not make them feel guilty. They are doing their job, the best they can while keeping themselves healthy and taking care of their family. There are other nursing homes that are giving hazard pay, lunches/ dinners, offering lodging and so on.

Do NOT bring your elderly parent to live here. Very shady operation that is all about the dollar and not about the residents. They will do everything they can to take your money, and they prefer to keep the residents in the dark by going around them and only communicating with the children of the residents. Many more places in the area that treat their residents right. They hire underpaid staff and ask the residents to chip in to pay them. Staff is unfriendly and awkward, almost like a cult. Stay far away!
