I was called in for an interview to work the front desk. Keep in mind I applied for this position back in May, and was just recently called in for an interview within the last week. (July)I take professionalism to the highest rank. As I approached the front desk there was no one there to greet me, and I waited for a few minutes for someone to respond after ringing their bell chime at the front desk.A woman pokes her head from around the corner and asks what I needed, I told her I was there for an interview and gave the womans name I was there for. She asked me to hang on and I said ok as I sat in the chair near the front desk. That same women comes back inside to tell me she would be right with me she was outside smoking. How unprofessional I didnt need to know that! The woman I was supposed to interview with approaches me and tells me the State is in the building and she needs to enter payroll into the computer before interviewing me. Really? remember you are the one that set the interview time.During my interview I was told they wanted to call me in back in May, but they had already hired someone, but they kept my resume and cover letter in their desk just in case and mind you she was sure to tell me they reposted this job back on the Indeed job site that morning of the day I interviewed. Also the woman made sure to tell me normally she wouldnt have called me back, because I didnt do a follow up phone call after sending my resume and cover letter in May, then seriously why did you call me in for an interview then?I was also told the woman they had originally hired walked out the day before and never returned. Too many red flags for me.I am an educated woman that has a Business Degree, and like mentioned in the beginning, I take professionalism seriously, and this place had no growth opportunity for me.My point is I didnt need to know the woman was outside smoking prior to interviewing me, Maybe my interview should have rescheduled for a different day, since the state was there. She didnt need to tell me during the interview normally she wouldnt have called me, because I didnt do a follow up call (a lot of businesses dont like to be bothered) had it been a major business I would have! Dont tell me you hung on to my cover letter and resume only to turn around and tell me you reposted the job on a job site that morning of my interview, how rude. Point is if you are unhappy in your position, then dont be there. I am that person that lives by this quote Be the change, you want to see in this world! I do just that.
