Forest View Rehabilitation and Nursing Center

I am puzzled by the low reviews posted on various sites. My wife has been a resident since January 24, and I have delayed reviewing the facility until I had comprehensive experience.I have found the facility to be definitely 5-star. This rating is satisfyingly true in the my two most important areas of concern: medical competence and degree of honest caring for the residents. My wife's medical needs are not only comprehensively met but routinely anticipated. The medical staff covers all fields that I could wish for, including therapy, wound care, even grooming..The staff that routinely have contact with my wife are happy to provide their services, even the more challenging but necessary tasks. Very importantly,, they provide sincere, upbeat rapport with my wife.Though my wife is just beginning to participate in the activities at Forest View, the number and variety of opportunities is impressive--including trips to various restaurants and, today, a trip to shop Target. The monthly calendar of activities posted throughout the building is crammed with opportunities (and even done in an attractive layout).Laundry is free (unlike some other facilities) and the cleaning staff seems omnipresent. I have never seen any significant problem with cleanliness.I have not listed every department and service that I have had contact with, but I have found everyone sincerely approachable and concerned'But I have met no staff member whom I didn't like. And nothing negative of any significance comes to mind about Forest View.I am a retired teacher with 32 years' experience teaching community college and high school--and I like to consider myself nobody's fool. I can only explain some negative online reviews of Forest View as out of date. I am extremely pleased with the outcome of my unfortunate need to place my wife into a nursing home. Not enough freedoms for people that are able to function on their own they have a lot of restrictions. Rehab therapists are great and a couple of cuties you'll know the ones I'm talking about!!??$$the food's pretty much basically the same over and over fairly good quality for what the budget has ! but you can order out. the kitchen staff got better since I've been here and again you're limited to do the things you can do and! have!!! the kitchen staff is as helpful as they can. they need to hire maybe one or two more people. okay I hope this has been helpful!?? peace out!

Being 56 years old I feel very comfortable at Forestview Rehab. From administrator to therapy specialists to housekeeping everyone cares! The therapy that I received is A+!

IL Department of Public Health tells me the facility:- facility failed to provide wound care treatment, -failed to follow physician's orders and plan of care for wound care, -failed to ensure hand hygiene, -failed to thoroughly investigate injury, -facility failed to ensure residents are free of physical restraints, -failed to follow their Abuse Prohibition policy for hiring staff members.

I am going to come back to write a very comprehensive and long overdue review for which I deeply apologize for not having written earlier. These people are amazing. For now I will simply say that my brain injured brother was very damaged in another facility. The negligence was so heartbreaking that I can still hardly bear the fact that my sister and I agreed to allow him to go there with not enough oversight. By the time we urgently pulled him out of there he could no longer walk and was so unnecessarily drugged he could barely speak. He was weak, disheveled, unkempt, and suffering severe depression. This was in a very short time.Fortunately, Forest View accepted him right away and performed miracles. These talented and hard working people are angels who really know their stuff.My brother was not only rehabilitated, he left there in the best shape I had seen him in, in decades. We are so grateful to everyone here .Unfortunately, the vast majority of people who are greatly helped fail to leave reviews (like we did until now) and this skews reviews to the lower end which frankly is unfair.Our family highly recommends this facility.
