My father has been a resident at Emerald Place for almost two years now. In those two years he and my family have truly become part of the community at Emerald. From the moment we first toured the newly opened facility, I knew it would be a good fit for him. Its small, only two floors, staff was visible throughout, residents were out of their rooms, smiling and engaged. I cannot say enough about the caregivers and staff at Emerald. They are warm and welcoming and make you feel like family. Lets face it, being a caregiver is a tough, thankless job. And granted, as a newly opened facility there were some growing pains. But throughout the transitions, Dad was always treated with compassion and respect by the staff, calling him by name, greeting him with hugs, making sure he had his favorite orange juice with breakfast. He is always nicely dressed in clean cloths and included in as many daily activities as he can tolerate. And those activities! Field trips to local restaurants, guest musical groups and singers, preschool childrens visits (love the inter-generational aspect), flower arranging, dance parties, brain games just to name a few. There are various daily options for all residents. For myself, being part of their community allows me to get to know other residents and their families. And as the nature of this horrible disease takes its toll on everyone, there are support groups, family nights and camaraderie that give us strength. I know I speak for my siblings and myself when I say how grateful we are to have found Emerald Place for my Dad. We can sleep at night knowing he is safe, supervised and compassionately cared for.

DO NOT MOVE YOUR LOVED ONE IN HERE! Their main manager lies and throws his managers and even families under the bus to save his own job. They lock their doors (dead built) when they can't handle residents with extreme behaviors, the company as a whole has had many deaths due to bad nursing practices, some of their employees key each others cars and even slashed tires...This company cares about money - not people, Def not those who work for them, and barely for the residents.I used to work for them and saw it first hand.

There are simply not enough words to say how blessed and truly grateful I am to the team at Emerald Place. In particular the Community Relations Director and Executive Director are outstanding beyond belief as is frankly the entire team. They moved mountains to help us get my mom where she needed to be, her new home. I say home because thats what this place has really become for me and my mom. The treatment, care and kindness they have all shown, candidly I was afraid was lost in todays day and age of elder care. Having already experienced two other places and unfortunately hearing horror stories of others, this place has turned out to be a godsend. Simply put, they have given me my life back. No longer do I worry if she is happy, I can see it all over her face. I dont worry if she is sleeping as she tells me how wonderful it is to be able to have heat in her room as much as she wants, which I love that the staff always makes sure she is warm and cozy. In addition, not only is the food great but they make sure to help her eat if she needs. For anyone having to face this, Ive been there and I understand what you are going through. I was in your very shoes so I am hoping this review will help ease your minds a bit because I cannot say enough good things about Emerald! They are simply the best, will treat your loved one the best and will make you feel part of them as they are truly one big family. I will be forever grateful to them!!!!
