My mom was transferred from Chicago to Gilman nursing home I've been in the hospital for 29 days and every time I call my mom I'm on hold for a very long time sometimes they don't even answer the phone and I called one time and they put some lady on the phone that had dementia this lady was talking crazy Non-Stop it was bringing tears to my eyes because at first I thought it was my mom and I had her on speaker and my wife said that's not your mom so I kept telling the lady put the nurse on the phone I can hear somebody in the background saying talk to him and then I heard laughing in the background so I hung up and called back lady answered the phone again and I said hey you put the wrong lady on the phone I told her the name again then they put another lady with dementia on the phone as much as I hated to do it I had to hang up the phone on this poor lady too and then I called back and that lady answered the phone again that works there and I asked her what her name was and she wouldn't tell me and then she told me it was Pam that gave the phone to that lady playing around this happened on a weekend so Monday I called and talked to a manager the manager said they don't have a resident or an employee their named Pam and told me her staff would not do that ,,not once did she apologize or tell me she will check the cameras soon as I'm released from the hospital I'm getting my mom out of there the staff is Barry occupational in this place should be shut down and the next day after I called and complained again about being on the phone for over 30 minutes they said my mom fell and she's in the hospital nowthey said she fell out of a recliner chair my mom can't get up on her own

The nurses there werent aware that my father had pneumonia and a flu while he was in their care. On top of that they didn't inforn the ER that he was on his way and ignore their call for about 2 hours..That place is joke.

I am impressed with the professionalism of Staff, having confidence in my Sister being well cared for mentally and physically.

This place is not acceptable in terms of cleanliness and staff care. I do not not recommend you allow your loved ones to be cared for at Gilman Nursing Home.

Went here for an interview This place did not have their act together. I couldnt believe what they considered the nurses office I sat in. I was originally given the wrong people to interview with and as I am siting there, someone came running up saying someone was choking. Took them minutes to even find a nurse around. When I nurse peaked her head around the corner to ask what was going on, it wasnt a Concern of hers to get there right away to help the choking person.When I sat down to fill out an application, bugs were crawling on the floor, doors looked liked they had been kicked in etc. By the looks of the outside would have you fooled on the looks of the inside Everyone there didnt seem happy with their jobs. The place was not clean and it just so happens the day I was there ,the state was there because of a complaint T t That doesnt surprise me and the place was not welcoming at all. That tells a lot about a place.I thought maybe I could make a change in this place, but quickly realized not one person looked happy and the place is a dumpI deserve a more quality of place to work at
