Grandview Health Care Center

I was there for a month for rehabilitation. I received excellent care, good food, attention and so did the other lady sharing the room. I got excellent rehab.

My mother in law recently passed away and stayed at Grandview Healthcare. First off, I understand that a nursing home or any elderly care facility are NEVER going to be 'perfect' because its not a 'perfect' place. I read all these negative reviews from people which I understand their frusterations because NO-BODY can take care of our loved ones like we can. Certain problems like changing diapers or not bathing a patient on a certain day are missed or simply not done because of reasons we, as son's, daughters or any family member cannot understand or much less control. It happened to my mother in law. Clothing was missing, shoes missing, teeth not brushed on occassion but the people who took care of Ila Mae LOVED HER. She was there for well over a year and my wife and I could sleep at night because we knew nothing bad was going to happen to her. The staff at GV cared and truly loved her. For that, we Thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts to the front office, Doctors, nurses, kitchen staff and cleaning crew for making Ila Mae's stay as 'perfect' as it could be.5's!Billy Sherwood

This place looks good from the outside, but inside is a facility that has poor nursing care and the beds are dirty. I am a nurse and I took my father there when he was recovering from bypass surgery. I was just appalled at the very start of our experience there.Upon arrival, the staff acted as if noone knew he was coming. An aide finally put us in a room, after 45 minutes no nursing staff had come into his room, so I tried to get a nurse....found one...she gave me attitude. ..said the other nurse was at lunch. I saw one other staff member in the whole place. .you can tell this place is poorly staffed. After noone seemed interested in helping us, I went back to his room and figured I would put him in the bed myself. I atarted to put the head of the bed up and there was blood and food on the bed rail. The sheets were nasty as well. About that time, an aide came in and brought lunch. which was a barbecue sandwich, fries and an ice cream. My dad is a diabetic and just had bypass surgery....and the facility had orders on him...so they knew. At this point, we had been there an hour ...still no nurse. No telephone or tv in the room...which tells me someone must steal them. At this point I decided I would not leave my dog in a place like that. So we left..without telling anybody. They had his telephone number on his admission papers....you would think when they found him missing they would call...noone called us. The next morning I placed a call to the administrator. ..she said. Oh we were about to call you. Omg...seriously! ! I filed a complaint with the state. The care and staffing here is awful. If you just need a place to dump someone and you dont give a damn about their care...this is your place.
