Today, as new residents, my wife and I had pleasure of attending worship services at the Hogansville 1st UMC. It was a lovely experience.We were greeted as we entered the building by an Usher/Greeter. He did so with a smile on his face and a hearty handshake! We were repeatedly greeted at the 'greeting time' and after the service.As we entered the Sanctuary, we noticed how lovely it was. It was impeccably clean. It is obvious that the congregation takes care of their worship space. It also presented us with many symbols of our Christian faith.The Pastor had a wonderful Childrens Sermon as he reminded the children that little things count.The Church Organist was inspiring and very professionally talented.As for the Pastors sermon, it was obvious that he was very comfortable with speaking on behalf of God to the children of God. His sermon was engaging the congregation and the faithful to the Scriptures. What I could not help from noticing as how intent the congregation was as they listened to the Pastors caring words. They were genuine and sincere. In an age where congregations want to be endorsed and entertained, the Pastor engaged the people with a spiritual and intelligent Christian witness.In the conclusion, the Pastor reminded us that confusion, doubt and questioning are part of our faith. These elements of humanity lead us, with the help the Holy Spirit, to a deeper and richer faith!Good job, Hogansville 1st
