During the final illness and death of my dad, we could not care for him at home. We were able to get him into QM directly from the hospital. While there, it was not uncommon to find someone caring for him directly by feeding, caring for personal needs, bathing, etc. when we visited. Our family was there 12 or more hours a day because we knew these were his last days (he was there about 6 weeks). We did not fear to leave him alone at night. They were so loving and kind to him. Before he left for Heaven, mom was moved into the home due to her dementia at dad's request. She loves it there. They are always having activities. Greg, the activity director, gives care to the ones who come to the activity, but also, those that are 'room-bound.' We are continually surprised at the love shown to mom. They have some of the best nurses and helpers you can meet. Mom is really pleased with all of them. Nurse Judy, April and Audra and some of the others have been especially helpful to helping mom adjust. It has been hard on us all, but thankfully, we don't worry about mom's care. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs to have their elderly parent cared for. They really do treat the residents well.
