Isles of Vero Beach

The two stars are for the wonderful people my mom met while living at The Isles, but check it out before you check in. When I was there last there was a board showing up dates to the building. This included improvements to be made to the lobby, WWII bowling room, diningroom etc. While residences run up to their appartments during a sudden rain storm to see if their windows are leaking. Or getting up at 11:00pm to sop up water coming in from a storm. After years of being told it would be looked in to, it still remains a major problem. My mother was concidered a lucky one because her windows didn't leak. The building is need of repair. Many lights to brighten pathways in the back of the building are damaged and have been for some time. When my mother moved in there were three sets of resident managers. Now there is a manager and his assistant and no one at night. The constant change in management and change in rules that go with it is very disconcerting for older people. I have heard, over the ten years I visited twice a year, that the management and especially 'corporate' make the residence feel that they have no say or control over the place they call home. I could go on. I have pictures and many more example to give. All I can say is do your research before you choose the Isles of Vero Beach. What a horrible experience. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. Windows leak, the building has a general bad odor about it. Carpets are nasty. AC's do not get cold enough. Nothing seems maintained or if it is it is maintained very poorly. CONSTANT rotation of employees. The rotation in management actually just gets worse each time. These are problems that have been going on for years and your answer every time is pretty much that they know about it and it is on the agenda to be addressed.

Horrible experience. Dirty, unorganized. Call button for help was not answered after pushed over 150 times. I filed complaint with state. Look it up. Public record.
