This facility which is more like a family if I'm to be honest Is amazing! Not 1 or 2 or 3 but a 5 star assisted living resort with caring staff from the maintenance crew up to the dietary aides and the hardworking caregivers and caregiving Supervisor(sharla gelin such a smart loving selfless individual),also the upper management cant forget that awesome nurse julie.the grounds are just beautifully captivating.the mornings at Banyan are my favorites the inviting smells from the kitchen,matching with a lush tropical landscape and the accompanying beautiful smiles of both residents and staff.It's our own little slice of paradise.I often find myself getting lost in all the muliti sensory activities they usually have going on.ranging from live music to magic shows,ice cream socials and even cook outs.Believe it or not I even once saw llamas in there! Like real live llamas !!The residents absolutely loved it!I did too.Those images and more will stay with me for a long time.alot of these moments in much more are made here at the Banyan.So come experience some lasting moments with us and be part of our loving family.When I say this I'm not overreacting but you wont find a single better facility/family in all florida.Great place to work.Great and safe facility for your loved ones to be cared for.I highly recommend a tour come meet and see what our family is all about.

Our family agonized and researched for months over the decision about placing my wife Mary of 50 years in Memory Care. Eventually her unsafe and sometimes life-threatening behavior left us with no choice but to move forward. I can only thank God for somehow directing us to A Banyan Residence. The long dreaded transition turned out to be a simple and painless process. They (Banyan) knew EXACTLY how to handle their challenging mission. It was 'all hands on deck' and their amazing staff focused and handled my wife's transition masterfully. The changes in Mary, in less than 2 short weeks, have been nothing short of miraculous. She is smiling, engaging with others, attending the many well thought out activities and SHE IS SAFE! My whole family is now beginning to heal and we can finally breathe again. Please keep in mind we did extensive, in-depth research and I encourage any family going the immeasurable pain inflicted by Alzheimer/Dementia to strongly consider this beautiful and very family oriented care center.

After thoroughly researching and visiting 8 memory care facilities near me, I can unequivocally say that was the best selection for my family concerns. Before my Mom could become resident, she had a couple of tragic falls at home and sadly passed away shortly after. Before her passing Amanda & Andre were so helpful and compassionate. Andre actually visited my Mom several times while in the hospital. Amanda is an incredible administrator with a knowledgable background in memory care. They even referred me to other centers I might want to check during my search. They have just been wonderful throughout. I would certainly consider this facility for a loved one. This is an amazing facility. If you want your loved one to be treated like family this is the place! There is such a sense of family and community here. This retirement is one of the finest retirement homes in Venice, they treat the residence with so much love and care. The staff is top of the line and always have a smile on their faces and Amanda is such a caring and loving director and she cares about all her staff. My parents have lived at Banyan Residence for a year now, and I cant say enough about the peace of mind that has come to me and my parents. I know that they are looked after in every way, I still visit them daily, but only for pleasure. Besides being a beautiful resort like setting landscaped beautifully, it does not look like your typical assisted living, it is filled with a staff that is caring and respectful. They have seen us thru many changes over the last year, and always did so with respect, thoughtfulness, and dignity to my parents. They also support me as a family member by sharing their knowledge and feedback. They call me directly with any concerns. They offer a PA who comes there weekly, and an RN who is onsite 5 days a week, as well as a staff that has been trained impeccably in every way. If you believe like I do that atmosphere, respect, dignity, and care are the most important things as you age, you cannot go wrong choosing Banyan Residence for your loved ones. I was referred there by two friends, and I have paid it forward by referring another friend. It is my pleasure to pass the word. Make sure to visit this little piece of paradise, meet their wonderful staff, and enjoy the peace of mind that I now have.

Beautiful facility! The ambiance is amazing with the Gardens, Tropical Plants, Cabana's, Koi Pond and so much more. The rooms are newly remodeled and maintained resort style. The staff is very friendly and the residents roam freely in a place of Paradise.

Wonderful and caring staff. Christine Fankhauser is fantastic and she really cares! Beautiful community with lush gardens where both residents and visitors can enjoy. Never seen another community like this one! There are plenty of activities for the residents. I am impressed with plentiful Koi pond where residents can feed the fish, enjoy the scenery or just take a cat nap.

This community is so beautiful. There are beautiful plants and flowers all over and the staff is so sweet. They really care about their residents. Beautiful calming resort like gated community, plenty of peaceful quiet areas to relax and reflect, or for a more active person there is a daily offering of social activities that are included. The administrator and nursing staff are compassionate.

I worked at Banyan for a year and a half and did so much for this place. I took shifts with crazy hours to help out, worked all the time, 5-6 days a week. When I tell you this place is an absolute mess I am not overreacting one bit. the facility is highly understaffed at all hours of the day, most times only 3 caregivers dealing with 60+ residents. I can recall countless times where myself or another caregiver was putting our 20+ residents to bed in the zone we were scheduled that day, there would be an emergency where a resident either fell or needed immidient help and we werent able to get to them or even know that there was an emergency because we were putting a resident that required a 3-4 person assist to bed alone, and this took time. This isnt the only thing bad about this place either, there are very few residents that were ever happy to be at Banyan, most didnt like the food and the ones that were still there enough to know better didnt like the fact that they would pull the call cord and it would take up to 20 minutes at times for a caregiver to even make it to their room. The supervisor of caregiving at Banyan Sharla Goolcharan is an absolute heartless ignorant woman who does not care what so ever about her residents, her staff, or even anyone but herself. I was fired a few days ago because my grandmother had a severe heart attack and my family and I were not sure if she was going to make it. So I called off two days to go and see her, which got me fired. If you are thinking for a second about sending a loved one here, I would stop right there, take the time to look around because when I tell you there is not a single assisted living facility in Florida as horrible as this one I am not joking. If youre looking to find work in this type of business, do not even think about applying at Banyan, the scheduling is absolutely horrible, the caregiver supervisor is as ignorant and heartless as they come, the workload is ridiculous for just one person. This place is an absolute joke and should be ashamed to call itself a 5 star assisted living resort and I think state should really do some further research into this facility .

I've had my mother at ABR since November 2015. She's happy, well taken care of and safe which makes me worry less as I'm not right there. The webcam and photos give me a glimpse of their day. The staff makes sure I'm informed regularly and no one is too busy to talk to me about how she's doing whether it's when I'm visiting or by phone.

A Banyan Residence's gorgeous nature theme and beautiful gardens and recreational areas created an upbeat, friendly, homelike atmosphere for residents.
