Three years ago, Bay Village was excellent. I stayed here for 5 days a month ago and was stunned by how bad things had become. I would not rehab here. The (new) beds are so uncomfortable I had to sleep in the chair every night. (Several aides told me others had complained as well; what about those too medicated or infirm to complain? If you go there, try lying on the bed before you leave someone there.) Physical therapy was good, but I had to insist that I get it, as the staff was lackadaisical about scheduling. Food is awful. Staff is untrained I could go on...and on. on.Bottom line,

I do not recommend Bay Village Rehab (skilled nursing facility)! Horrendous experiences with marketing Robin, case manager, and the contract therapy company during my post op care, as well as, the CEO and COO. I informed my surgeon of the issues and he told me, he has not recommended this facility in a couple years because his patients had many concerns.

I do not recommend Bay Village Rehab. They illegally solicit patients, keep us much longer than they should for financial gain, lie to patients and promise private rooms or tell them they are not allowed to leave, disregard physician and patient preferences. The awful marketer Robin, makes all patients complete questionnaires when they tour the facility, so she can have our private info, surgery date, physicians solely for the purpose of illegally hounding patients to stay there and just shows up to their hospital room when she is not legally allowed to. She upsets the patients and their families, as does, the director of therapy. The CEO and COO do not return calls re complaints or concerns and there are seemingly no repercussions to these actions. My father and neighbors all had horrendous experiences with Robin, the case manager, and the contract therapy company during their post op care, voiced their concerns and never received any follow up. My neighbor was also given an unnecessary and incredibly strong pain patch that made her very ill. Her husband took her home that day! The leadership seems to be unfriendly and unattentive, as does, the medical director and many of the staff. Unfortunately, there are local doctors with directorship involvement at this rehab who also send patients there. Bay Village has the longest length of stay and unsatisfactory outcomes. Do your research and do not go to Bay Village, nor allow your loved ones to!
