Great Compassionate Care! Kudos to Terry Bender and the entire care team.

RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!My father was admitted to Solaris Healthcare in Palatka, FL in October, 2019. Unfortunately, we experienced issues beginning at the time of check in until I moved him to another facility a week later. At check in, the front desk person told us she didn't know how to check in patients so we had a lengthy wait for another staff member who could check him in. Once checked in, we waited for an hour before anyone spoke to him. FInally, a staff member came in to take his vital signs which she scribbled on a piece of scratch paper. He was given no greeting, orientation or tour of the facility. No inventory of his personal belongings was taken and bathing and meal times were never explained. Throughout my father's stay at Solaris Healthcare, we encountered problems with incorrect medications being administered, rude staff coming into my father's room laughing loudly and socializing while he tried to sleep, and a general lack of professionalism. I attempted to speak with the Administrator, Greg Hovey, however he was not available even though I tried to make an appointment with him. I have shared my experience with several families who are trying to make decisions regarding where to place loved ones. Solaris Healthcare Palatka is definately not a place I can recommend.
