Brookdale New Port Richey

My aunt is currently a resident and she says the food is terrible and she has lost 12 lbs in 3 months. She is not a picky eater. Also she has to wait a long time to receive help when she calls for it. She is not happy here. I'm sure the new covid rules are part if the problem, but there's no excuse for bad food!

My cousin and my aunt both live there. My cousin is only 58 years old, is a diabetic, has no air conditioning. Her room is loaded with cockroaches which apparently the board of health does not care about investigating. One lunch consisted of a bag of potato chips & cold, burnt pea soup. I would not put an animal or human being in this place. My rating would be a minus 10+. I had pick a star so it's less than 1

Do No Go Here!!!When you walk in the front doors it is beautiful and everyone is so nice, its clean, and you see the staff smiling, but when you actually are in the place that is where it all ends, and the $$$ surprises happen, let me start from the beginning, my loved one needed memory care, we first went into the office to discuss what we needed and they provided, just like buying a car he said All Inclusive which comes to find out is nothing( no joke) we looked in the memory care area it was raining outside so we didnt think anything about it being dark and dreary inside, then we went to sign the papers, well the administrator came in smiling and started out by joking around and got us comfortable, another person came in at the same time and started talking to me, we may as well slit up and it will get done faster...haha, so we did not thinking, more joking around as he was explains one maybe two pages of the contract that is longer than buying a house, (that should have woke us up right there) he continued saying a few things about the contract, saying well its the usual stuff, more jokes handing my husband papers and saying sign here as he is cracking jokes. Now we went from a small fee to enter this place to $2,500.00 up front no refunds, then we find out the next day, he needs, sheets, towels, soap, and All things you would need in your home, so there is Nothing All Inclusive, and the memory care area is dark and very depressing when you go in on a Normal beautiful day, all the money goes up front for the show to get people in, the nurses are nice but the aids are not happy and you can tell by seeing them and talking to them, they clean their room once a week in memory care where they cant even remember to go to the bathroom......my loved one had a shower we came in and have pictures several days later, there was blood all over the bathroom wall where they never cleaned it off, I just dont understand how they are open.

RECEPTION IS VERY NON ACCOMMODATING I WAS LOOKING FOR A RESIDENT APPARENLTY THEY CAN NOT GIVE THAT INFORMATION I DO NOT THINK THEY INTERPRETED HIPPA LAW WELL
