I would not recommend this facility. The majority of the staff, nursing, house keeping, techs, all move at one speed slow. They show very little concern for the residents. their cell phones are more important. The facility smells of urine, long black hair is everywhere, they don't empty the potty chairs. Most of the residents are in a noncognitive state of mind and i feel the staff just don't care. The residents would ask me to help them each day I was there, i helped this one gentlemen almost everyday. The Nurse leader should do more to engage the staff. This experience was with the second floor only. I can name the staff but i won't do that, they know their work ethic. Their were 3 great staff doing their best.PT are very good and the best staff i recommend and commend the PT department, the food is very good, i will say that. My mom was there 3 weeks she got a shower twice. i kept asking, i would even do it. some how she was never put on the show schedule. it took days to get her meds correct. Choose a better facility.

So far, so good! All staff are very caring and knowledgeable. I feel the residents are very well cared for.Update:July 2019This is the BEST nursing home by far! The residents are attended to on an individual basis. Any concerns are dealt with and resolved right away. Care plan meetings are done quarterly with the resident and family member able to attend to voice concerns are give praise.

The personnel at this facility are RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! I was invited with my entertainment team during the month of July 2018 by Recreational Director Cristal Nouel, to conduct a performance for Hispanic Heritage Month on September 21, 2018. I invoiced for the services on August 8, 2018 and informed Cristal that the payment will be needed on the day of the performance in cash or check. Cristal assured me that the payment will be ready. Post-performance on 9/21/2018, Cristal stated that she did not have the money and will begin the process on 9/24/2018. My team was upset and disappointed because they traveled far, arrived on time, and did a one (1) hour show OF LIVE DRUMMING MUSIC, DANCE, FOLKLORIC POETRY, SINGING, AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT, and did not get paid! I submitted a formal complaint with the Administrator from OPIS Island Lake Center, Megan Pilko. Megan didn't care about the matter and completely ignored my formal complaints. I submitted multiple emails and called her several times and she had NO RESPECT for my concerns or efforts made on my behalf to get the matter resolved. Then 12 days post performance I receive an email from Assistant Hanna Hansen, stating that Corporate needed a W9 form in order for my team to receive their payment. This was such an inconvenience to my team mates and showed the LACK OF professionalism and consideration towards us. The staff failed to make clear the payment process. I communicated very clearly to them what our condition were and the payment expectations nearly 2 months in advance. The staff refused to give me the contact information to their Corporate and stated that they didnt know it. I called again on 10/11/2018 and was transferred to speak with Ginger Henson, Business Office Manager, who assisted me and began the payment process right away. Ms. Henson also apologized for her team not being professional and not following the proper protocols for vendors to receive payment. As of 10/11/2018, (Twenty-one (21) days later!!) I have not received payment for rendered services. I DON'T RECOMEND FOR ANYONE TO PERFORM HERE. I'M CONCERNED FOR THE RESIDENTS AT THIS CENTER BECAUSE AS A GUEST I'M BEING TREATED SO RUDE, I CAN'T IMAGINE HOW THEY TREAT THE RESIDENTS THAT HAVE SEVERE CONCERNS. DO NOT PERFORM FOR THE RECREATIONAL DEPARTMENT!!!! THEY HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO RUN THEIR DEPARTMENT CORRECTLY! RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE!!!! IF I COULD LEAVE ZERO STARS ON THIS REVIEW, I WOULD!!!!
