Our loved one started out in Assisted living and I would say that experience was just ok. The problem came when our mother was moved to memory care. The experience was painful for us. We should have moved her a year before we did. We were concerned about confusing her even more by placing her somewhere else. (Please never fall into that trap) This fall, I received a voicemail saying my mother had fallen and was taken to hospital. She had fractured her hip on their watch. The fall did not occur in her room, but in the supervised extremely small room they keep the memory care residents ALL day, sitting in chairs. Upon arrival in the emergency room, it was noted that my mothers face, teeth and clothes were filthy. We actually told ER staff to throw away her clothes. She had to have hip surgery that same day and after release from the hospital, she was moved to rehab After 45 days in a physical rehabilitation facility, we moved my mother to another wonderful facility, but unfortunately she passed away approximately one month later due to complications from a fractured hip. I would suggest to anyone considering the Rose Garden, to do their research. I found the communication between staff and family to be almost nonexistent. I felt there was never any accountability or ability to do things better. There was ALWAYS an excuse for everything and the blame always seemed to be directed at my mother. There was never any formal orientation for the family and that should have been a red flag to me. Choosing The Rose Garden was in my opinion a huge mistake we made.

When I had my Dad in the memory care 3 years ago. The Rose Garden was a nice place. My Mom moved in 6 months ago and we moved Dad into the assisted side with her. We saw the huge change in staff. When I called concerned over the care for my Dad, I was told they didn't have staff for him. That was my Mom's responsibility. I had specifically asked about that when Mom moved in. They told me I should have read the contract before it was signed. Meaning they were not going to honor their word. Mom went to the hospital on a Thursday night. I had several msg. From her. She was in obvious distress. I called the Rose Garden at 7 am Friday morning. Only an answering machine. Left a msg. To please call and let me know where Mom was. I ended up calling hospitals to find her. Rose Garden never returned my msg. Mom was in the hospital for 5 days. Dad wore the same clothes all 5 days. No one bathed or changed his clothes and the rose garden never contacted me. The management there is all about the money, not the care. My mom fell at 10 am one morning no one called me until 4:30 pm. They said she refused to go to the hospital. Doesn't matter I should have been called immediate to help make that decision. She had a broken arm. A staff who go above and beyond are not there long. I moved them both out and they are doing much better

WOW.....how many times can you say this regarding a facility for this specific population?.......Rose Garden has been nothing but a professional and safe place for my 101 year old father. Details to accommodate our family needs as well as communication have been carefully managed by Geraldine. Traci, your job at managing a staff and keeping this facility a 'safe and warm ' home for my father has been carefully observed. I am a seasoned RN myself and can endorse Rose Garden for its care, safety, cleanliness and concern. We have been not just satisfied but truly grateful for such a wonderful place to have my father. Thank You Rose Garden!!!!
