My wife was admitted to New Dawn Memory Care on Feb. 27, 2020 while I was in the Hospital. I have not been able to visit her due to the Corona Virus lock down but have had many telephone conversations with Nancy Britton, the Director as well as other members of their staff. They all are very pleasant and courteous to talk to and understand all my concerns and honor my requests. Recently the Activity Director asked me to assist with my wife's digital tablet that she used for audio books as it was not charging properly. I was able to retrieve the unit and took it home to find the correct charger. Returned the next day with the correct charger and all is well with that.My wife is receiving excellent care and I am satisfied with the reports I receive from New Dawn. I believe she is in a 'good' place!

My sister and I recently moved our Mom here after a disastrous experience at another IL/AL/Memory Care combo facility. We toured 10 different properties before we picked New Dawn. Mom suffers from Lewy Body Dementia and thrives better in a smaller place. Our Mom continues to thank us for moving her to 'such a beautiful house where the food is good and the staff are very caring and extremely kind.' She loves the activities and the coziness of the community. It's not too big and overwhelming for her so she doesn't get 'lost in the shuffle'. We love their COTTAGE concept: the private room/full bathroom is where you sleep & shower and the REST of the building is your home (living room, dining room, kitchen) to wander anywhere or participate in fun activities. We also LOVE that the staff is always available and not far away from any one room at this 16 room cottage. I visit her Tues/Thu/Sat and get a chance to interact with the staff who are ALL great!!!! Go visit this wonderful community!

I'd give 0 stars if possible. Some of the residents at this facility are from Peak View. Many were denied placement at other facilities. This information was never shared. Residents will bite, kick, pinch, and spit on you. There are some employees there who are cruel and don't take to kindly to new employees. I've never felt so bullied at a job in my life. The 2 qmaps that I worked with were abusive to me all day long. Cussing me out. I mentioned this to Jen. I was told to come in the next day to discuss it. It was clear they had spoken to the qmaps first and I was basically ambushed. The 'boss' didn't seem to care to much. Rumors are there are relatives and friends that all work there so, that might explain it. I witnessed food being shoved into a sleeping elderly woman who they wanted awake. A fork was taken from me as I wasn't feeding a resident fast enough. The 'boss' informed me at this meeting, 'you have to feed her fast. Otherwise she grabs everyone elses food.' I've done this job long enough to know how to feed an elderly person. Not to mention that we were at a table alone. I could go on, but I really hope the state gets involved as these residents, no matter how they act still deserve compassion and respect and not treated like animals the staff have to put up with until they die. So sad for the elderly.

New Dawn, especially Amber, was so helpful in getting my dad into their facility when we needed to move him from a previous memory care in Montrose, CO. They eased my fears that we wouldnt be able to get him in a new place. They made the transition easy for him, and us. They were kind and compassionate. The staff seems great any time we have been there. They engage the residents and are kind and helpful. It is difficult to leave a loved one in a memory care, but I feel very confident and comfortable with the care my dad is getting at New Dawn!
