Wood Glen Hall has been my mother's home for 6 years. While she enjoys pretty good health she has had some episodes requiring additional assistance. The staff has been so considerate and supportive and patient with her recovery, treating her as one of their family. Wood Glen is so clean and bright with a great walking area, complete with many birds and a friendly squirrel. I live a distance from my mom but always feel she is being cared for at Wood Glen. She loves the desserts! My mother experiences a continuing longevity with a good quality of life due to the Wood Glen environment. Thank you!

When I look for the quality of a community such as this, I look at the longevity, or lack there of, of the staff. This may not seem like the most glamorous unit of measurement, but I find it's the most accurate. A solid, happy team provides dependable, joyful care. The staff at WGH are an excellent team and all have long resumes with the building. I've only known this community for 5 years, and I know Joan the ED, Diane the RN, Lourdes Head of Housekeeping, Holly Activity Director, and many more members of the staff have been serving their residents for many years before that too. The service is prompt and professional while remaining loving and familial. I can't say enough about this community!

My mom moved to Wood Glen Hall reluctantly when she was 97. Like most folks, she resisted moving away from her home in Alhambra, California, after living there for over 60 years. Her choice was in-home help or a move to assisted living, and we wanted her here in Santa Barbara where she would be close to family. Wood Glen's director, Joan Schuermann, suggested to her that she simply pack a bag for a weekend and come and try it as though she were on a vacation. Well, she never left. Mom is now 102 and thriving, thanks to the wonderful staff and residents of Wood Glen Hall. In five years, the staff has remained constant, a tribute to the management, and so important for the residents who are part of a family. Residents and staff alike are always warm and friendly to everyone, including visitors. Wood Glen has added years to my mom's life - good years - and has made it easier for us to support her emotionally and physically in her waning years. We are so thankful to have found Wood Glen and recommend it without reservation.

My mother came to Wood Glen Hall in November of 2012 after some health challenges did not allow her to live in her own home anymore. And though it was probably one of the hardest decisions for mom and our family to make, it has turned out to be the best decision for all concerned. The residence is meticulous and well kept, the upgrades that have been made are beautiful, the grounds are gorgeous, the food is fresh and well prepared, and the location is fantastic. But above all, you and your team of office personnel, nursing, housekeeping and dining room staff, activities directors, gardening, maintenance and driving crew have all been incredible in making mom's life as pleasant as possible and given our family some much needed peace of mind! Thank you to all the wonderful staff for taking such great care of my mother.Susan Cervantes
