Grammy has been living here for a year and a half in the independent senior living. Every aspect of our experience with this place has been 5 stars so far... starting with the moving process. The movers were arranged by the Palms and they accommodated a very last minute weekend appointment with us. They took photos of everything on the night stand, etc and had the room set up with the pictures and knick knacks in the exact same spots! They spent time to advise what would fit and what had to stay behind. She has a balcony and her cat with her at the Palms. There's a movie theater with popcorn! The staff, especially Barry and Janis are wonderful. The food is really wonderful and the vibe is comfortable and friendly. We live in the San Fransisco area and we are Grammy's only family. We spent years worried about what Grammy's next steps would be after she fell at home by herself. The staff, food, activities, and social life at the Palms have been great for her.We are so grateful that she found this place. I couldn't recommend more!

Our parents moved in there on June 17th 2017 due to my Dad falling and breaking his arm. He is the primary care giver to our mom, who has dementia. The home itself is nice, the activity director and some of the staff are amazing, however, there is a lack of organization and communication starting at the top. They have no welcome or introduction on how to use the emergency cords, and now written instructions. The staff tried to do their best, but where it fell apart big time was the assistance side of things, he was supposed to receive a shower every 3 days, it was over 3 weeks before he had his first shower, and that was given to him by a family memeber, not the home, even after several attempts.there were a few people there that were wonderful to our parents, Andre and Amanda were their all time favorites, but the nursing side is run by Carmen, who was the worst overall, she is in a job she has no idea how to do and she is over the nursing staff. She was so nice to them as we signed them up but the day the moved in until the day they moved out, she ignored them and was rude to us, the family. They are now in another home that they are paying 2100.00 less a month, yes its in Idaho, but they are treated respectfully and they are so much happier.I think that if the La Quinta home would have better management in staff, and Carmen wasnt there, they would not have wanted to move with us, but they did and are very happy. Thank you Andrea and Amanda for always welcoming them, getting them involved and most importantly treating them like individuals who matter.
