While I personally have not gone inside an apartment here, I can vouch for their facilities. Every Wednesday, they have the official Santa Barbara Chess Club meet, and I walk thought the pool area and meet in the dining hall. The pool is pristine and very well maintained, and the kitchen looks excellent. Their food is incredible(I have seen others enjoy it) and the staff is very kind. I can tell that the people there are in a very close knit community, and I would highly recommend that if you are considering moving into a elderly home, you chose Friendship Manor.
