Oakmont of Escondido Hills is truly amazing! Everything, from the meals to care is exceptional. Always smells clean and fresh, the courtyard is beautiful. You'll find yourself surrounded by grapefruit and fresh lemon trees and a gorgeous fountain. Took a year and a broken hip to convince my mom to move there, and I know she's going to love it! The staff is incredible, so warm, caring, and friendly. Special thanks to director Olivia for helping make it all happen!

The care and kindness of every staff member here is incredible. Everyone is thoughtful, kind and knowledgeable. My mom is so very happy since moving here. She loves all the people, the care she gets, all the fun activities and the chef driven food is incredible. The facility is so homey and smells good. Beautiful spaces for family and friends to enjoy when they come visit. Grateful my brother was able to get a little apartment for our mom here.

Oakmont of Escondido Hills is amazing. My husbands mother needed assisted care but was very resistant about living in what she referred to as a nursing home. Oakmont senior living is the furthest away from the term or visual of a nursing home. Oakmont is very much like a resort. The residential community is very welcoming from the first step into the large lobby, to the beautiful gardens, the full service restaurant meals, the choice of different sized apartments. There are many positives that are immediately noticed at Oakmont: the lobby and buildings are decorated with fresh flowers, beautiful furniture and designed for senior needs such as wide hallways, accessible restrooms, handrails, wheelchairs, walkers and electric scooters. The settings are designed in such a way that all of those accommodations appear ordinary, something that you only realize and recognize later as being different. The attention to meals is extraordinary. The dining areas are full service restaurants. Residents and family members choose their meals from menus. The menus offer 2 3 main selections, in addition, to alternate constant menu items. The menus change daily. Chef Mercedes is an amazing chef and person; her meals are incredibly tasty. We were very impressed with all of the meals at Oakmont and the attention to resident input and requests. The attention to the serving of the meals is amazing. Everyone sits at tables with full linen service: linen table cloths, linen napkins, real silverware and glasses. Fresh flowers are placed on the tables daily. Waiters and waitresses take orders, deliver the meals and take away plates/glasses when the meal is finished. The waiters and waitresses are young adults who are learning the how tos of food service. Residents who are not feeling well can ask that their meals be delivered to their apartments. Family members, who want to join a resident for a meal, pay a reasonable fee for an excellent meal in a nice setting. The residence offers a lot of activities. There are socials, live entertainment, game days including scrabble and bingo, movies every night, a pool table, a hair and spa salon, a swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, an excellent fitness center, a library/study and the opportunities to go out on community trips with other residents. There are many rooms for residents to get together to chat, play games, read and/or just relax. The apartments are really nice and apparently made for the ease of senior living. Again, the hallways and living spaces accommodate assisted care devices. The bathrooms are huge with easy access to the showers, even with a wheelchair. The staff will help add any additional devices needed to make an apartment more accommodating to a resident. The overall look and appeal of Oakmont of Escondido Hills is fresh and inviting. My husbands mother remained resistant to her move to Oakmont for about 2 weeks. All staff bent over backwards to welcome her and help her adjust. Once she started attending meals, meeting other residents, playing scrabble, getting around the gardens on her scooter, she was hardly ever found in her apartment. The change in her was profound. She had previously lived on her own and forgot how much fun she could be having. Oakmont provided her with a staff that genuinely cared for her, with friends she could spend time with and a place that she could navigate knowing that she was safe. She became a very happy person. This made it possible for my husband to relax knowing that he didnt have to worry. There were times when we would visit and she would wave us off because she was busy visiting with friends. THAT was a new behavior and a wonderful one.We cant say enough about Oakmont. All of the staff, including everyone from every department: administration, financial, nursing, nutrition, social, maintenance, custodial, cleaning, etc. deserve high praise. We highly recommend Oakmont and may someday consider to make it our home.

The memory care has gone so far down hill. The caretakers ignore the residents and they start putting everyone to bed at 5:15. By 6:30 or so most of them are in bed and if they get out of bed they are told to go back to bed that they are not allowed to be up. I will be moving my friend to another facility soon.
