I have applied for this place to be a caregiver, and it took me forever to get their application forms filled out. I had to answer many irrelevant as well as intrusive questions, write an essay or two, and all of my utmost personal information were turned in, and this place doesn't even have anything to say. How about a word of 'We have received your application and we are about to review it'? If the company is not interested in replying to the applicants, what kind of communication system do they have going, I wonder. We don't live in New York City. I bet there weren't that many applicants to begin with. I was pretty dumfounded by their apathy, and lack of consideration. If the application process was a lot simpler and non-instrusive, I wouldn't have cared to hear from them. But after taking a great deal of time and making efforts to get all the answers right, I realized I'm not even good enough for a confirmation email. I currently work as a caregiver for a small agency, and I bet I make a lot more than what the caregivers at this company make. It reminds me of the Pebble Beach Company. Stuck up with great deal of ambitions, but minimum wage jobs and workers...The director of HR isn't really directing anything. Comfortable with their salary, and lazy to the core. Just like Pebble Beach Company.

I would think twice before committing your loved one to the memory care at the Cottages of Carmel. It was only 5 min. from our home, but despite the convenience, we had multiple problems. From dehydration, which turned into a trip to the ER, to calls almost weekly with reports of our mother falling out of bed. She was given scalding hot coffee right in front of me, the list goes on and on. The staff is mostly young and the memory care manager has an attitude issue. There were 3 GM's in 4 years. NEVER, any follow up or concern whatsoever, after 2 trips to the hospital, etc. WE had to initiate bringing in Hospice, which bathed her 3x per weektook all of her vitals, and medicine needs. The Cottages charged an additional$2500 a month because they said she was a double lift, and they didn't even bathe her. We finally were able to move her to another facility, forless than half the cost, with a mature, and dedicated staff. I'm sorry I would never recommend the Cottages of Carmel for your loved ones! Her new home has beds with full rails and a bed alarm if she tries toget out of bed. She has never fallen there.
