I just noticed a bad review for Sherwood for a legal issue. Seems odd to me that someone would think it a bad thing that Sherwood would protect the rights of their residents. Sherwood staff are a great bunch of people. They are a family, not just employees. Years back I placed my 90 year old grandmother there and she lived to be 100. She loved it there and thrived. The staff cared for her like family, even sitting by her side at the end. We are now moving my father-in-law into Sherwood. I am excited for him to be more active and create new relationships. On our last two visits residents and staff were very friendly and welcoming. They offer the amenities that the larger places do. We like that it is smaller and more cozy. For us the respect for a smoking resident was an issue at other places making them smoke in the parking lot or across the street. Not safe over there. Here at Sherwood they offer special areas for them to smoke. A much more respectful situation. The staff knows everyone's name. It's just the best place in Tucson when this care is needed!

My Mom was here for 5 years and LOVED IT!!! Staff is caring, room is larger than any other assisted living in the area and the price is exceptional when you consider other places. The staff cares for their residents like family. It's an older building, but improvements are continually being made.

My father stayed here for almost 5 years. The current management is wonderful with Patti as head nurse. She bends over backwards to care for the residents.I specified current management because there were some really sparse years when they couldn't keep a nurse for more than 6 months and the care really suffered. The facility is being updated and looking better. The rooms are larger than most providing a lot of value for your money.

My grandmother had to leave a different center due to her health according to her doctors after having a second stroke. My wife and I being out of state were working with the medical team, and placement case worker to find a place that could handle her care, and found a great place for her, and had her moved in before she was released from her recovery center. We were informed that our 90 Plus year grandmother moved herself of out , and into sherwood village even though her care required her to be in nursing care in which sherwood village does not have. ( there assisted care only ).When her own sister found out she had moved, she was able to track down where she had went, and tried to call her, and was told that they could not deny, or confirm she was there. When my wife called the Sherwood, they informed my wife that they did not have to inform us of anything with her, including if she had passed. We are currently speaking with an attorney now, and will be also contacting several other groups such as adult protective services.
