If you're reading this review, you have already discovered that finding the right place for a loved one to live and receive adequate care can be nerve racking. Making big decisions for someone else can cause a lot of second-guessing oneself. That's how it was for my siblings and me as we tried to shepherd our mother through her progressing dementia, searching for a 'home' that's not too restrictive today but will offer enough care and structure for tomorrow. After personally reviewing Arizona's list of 400+ assisted living homes in Tucson, less than two dozen met our picky criteria. At minimum, the house itself had to be safe, clean, orderly, and purpose-built so residents with limited mobility and/or cognitive skills could navigate the space. We wanted to be able to feel confident that the staffing ratio would be adequate, that staff was skilled to deftly handle the routine as well as emergency care. We wanted in-home doctor visits, medication management, haircuts, and nails attended to. Nutritious, from-scratch meals were equally important. In short, we wanted it all!! Yes, we ARE that horrid, demanding family that caregivers try to avoid, because we want someone to take care of mom like we wished we could ourselves. Now let me sing Desert Gardens praises specifically: They meet all the criteria outlined above, what's more, they patiently work with US, the demanding family. For that, we will be forever grateful. We've seen immediate improvements in mom, including a better appetite and increased energy. Desert Gardens is a beautiful home, beautifully appointed, situated up in the hills to offer beautiful views. We appreciate how well our mother is cared for by Desert Gardens' kind and flexible staff. There is no 'buyer's remorse' in this choice. We think it's The Best!

Having my mom Sarah at Desert Gardens was the best decision we made for her. They are like family and took very great care of my mom. Personality's are awesome! Sadly my mom passed May 3rd but the care and love she received was more than I could have asked for. Highly recommend them! And I will miss seeing them! Love them all!! Stuart King

After having visited a number of care homes and feeling distraught, I walked into Desert Gardens with an immediate feeling of euphoria! It is a beautiful bright and airy environment, with the most remarkable staff. The attention and engagement given to the residents is more than I imagined. The Administrator, Robin, immediately allayed my fears of assisted living.I feel at peace to have my husband in such a loving, caring and safe home.

Desert Gardens Assisted living and memory care is home for Dad and a very special place. This home is beautiful from every little detail inside the house to the peaceful, spectacular views in the backyard. This is the first time I have written a review, I think its important for families to know what really makes this home exceptional....it is the highly qualified, caring, attentive loving staff! From the moment I walk in the front door I am greeted with a warm smile, the smell of home (home cooked meals) and residence that look content and cared for. From my first phone call to Chaz (Owner) it was all about my Dad and his specific needs, this man truly cares about people. He has hired quality professional caring staff that make this home unique from the rest. Because he is hands-on and strives to accommodate each families needs. Robin, the administrator/house manager is an angel on earth! Her professionalism and years of experience I am so thankful for. She is present in the home, and always there to answer my questions and give me a hug. The strong caring leadership of this facility is sprinkled down to every caregiver and passed on to my Daddy and all of the other residents... Desert Gardens is home!
