The Groves, A Merrill Gardens Community

Looks nice enough, but as someone else stated the care isn't the quality that you would hope your loved ones would be getting. And, more often than not, the employees have been rude when speaking to them on the phone. Even if the employee gets annoyed, it's best they remain professional, but unfortunately that hasn't typically been the case when speaking to people that work here.

The Groves is a very good care facility, offering many services for the ongoing health, interest and stimulation of it's clientele, provided by a good team of management and staff. The technical team provides an excellent service in maintaining the facility. My family have been very well looked after in the 'independent' wing and, latterly, in the memory care wing. The very helpful front desk staff have given me great support with regard to the outside health- and financial-care of the family, as an international family member.

We had a family member that lived here for a couple of years and over time we noticed that the facility put on a good show but did little to deliver quality patient care and there was an obvious reflection of breach of duty by the staff. After the living conditions got to the point where apparent neglect was taking place we had to move our family member out. During the move out process we were horrified with how bad the conditions really were and will never recommend this facility to anyone. We have also been advised to file neglect charges against The Groves however, non have been filed as of yet. If you decide that you want to have your family member move into this facility, be forewarned that they will not be getting the care that they or you are paying for and you will be paying them for care that you will need to provide yourself. If I could put 0 stars, I would. DO NOT recommend The Groves!
