This retirement home for Independent, , Assisted Living and Memory Care Residents has a very homey atmosphere. Staff, available 24/7, strives to treat all Residents like family members. And, activities in the facility and outings to area restaurants and a nearby casino are scheduled to encourage interactive relationships.

My father in law has been a resident for 6 months' at Cottonwood Villages, Cottonwood, Az. When we first viewed this facility we were told many things of which have never taken place. We were promised the care giver will coordinate with Leo and get him involved in activities, even if just setting up chairs or working in the garden. He has his meals and then returns to his room and goes to bed until next meal. Housekeeping walks by his room if his door is closed. We have tracked them down on two occasions and were told oh we were buzy and will get to it tomorrow. There has been urine on his floor and Pam a worker cleaned it until housekeeping can get to it. His shower stool has been coated with feces for 3 weeks and thus my husband had to clean it. His walker has his name and room number painted on it and somehow it got lost. His cane also with name and room number has gotten lost. The walker was found. There is repeatedly razors left in his room for the caregiver doesn't know where he put his razor. He has an electric razor for he removes skin with non electric razor. He has in the last six months fallen sever times which is expected, however he has been transported to ER and no body calls his Primary Care to notify her. When ever we call to speak to team leader about his care they don't seem to know anything. The personal care and supervision is unacceptable and thus we are moving him out to another facility. This is a huge loss of precious finances, however your facility can not seem to have enough people. When ever we go for a visit, my Dad is in bed. His floor is covered in cotton from his depends and his toilet has been disgusting. He hasn't showered for several weeks and all the care giver says is he refused. They all sort of give us the same excuse and say we cannot force him. The man has mental as well as physical issues and has an oder of urine, not just on himself but in his room. We have told them to call me, when he refuses his shower and I will come give him one.I can not justify the amount of monies we pay for so little care he gets. It is sort of like out of sight and out of mind. We will not refer and people to this facility in the future. All the intake staff is concerned with is $$$. Once your in there your stuck!
