Carrington Specialty Care Assisted Living

Carrington Specialty Care Assisted Living on Three Notch Rd was home for my mother for about three and a half years (until she needed a skilled nursing facility this past month). There is another review online that mentions a 'front desk'. This facility does not have a front desk, so that review may be about a different facility. Mom had wonderful care there. The staff are caring and professional. It can be difficult, initially, to accept that your family member (and other residents) are in a significantly declined state of health and that the time for the next level of help has come. There is guilt about our own relative, and looking in a mirror that may reflect our own future can be jarring. The later years of life are often not the easiest for the resident or for the family, but the staff and management made a very comfortable home for Mom and worked hard to help her have the best possible quality of life. They make great effort to make it 'home-like' rather than institutional. Mom was treated with care and dignity and we, the family were as well.

If I could give it a ' 0 ' I would. This place seems all about the money. The dining area smelled so bad it almost made me sick. I only toured this place. Some kids were running the front desk and eating the whole time I was there. They set up for me to come back and tour the facility with another family member with a staff member from house keeping. Please do not consider this place for a loved one.
