By far the best senior living facility Ive ever been to!

After doing a tremendous amount of research and visiting several other facilities, I absolutely, hands down would recommend Riverside Senior Living. I met the owners June and Steven Hall and I found out that they were a family owned and operated business. I also met with Lisa and Brenda, two of the staff members at Riverside, and they were both very dedicated and very much believed in the Riverside difference. The Riverside difference is simply the location of the facility by the river, which is fantastic. The staff, some of whom have been there for ten years or more, love their job as well as the community. To the head nutritionist and chef who provide personalized meals for the seniors. I was truly impressed by the personal attention that the residents receive. Without question, I recommend this facility for your parents as I did mine. It was truly hard for me to place my mother outside of her home, but I am excited to know that my mom will have over and above board standard of care that she deserves. Before you make a decision, at least have a tour of the facility...it will be well worth your time!

My parents moved to Riverside in March of 2010 after both had had strokes. My Dad was able to receive the care he needed while my mom remained independent...yet they shared the same apartment. My mother, now a widow, has lived at Riverside for 9 years and it is her home, her community, her family! I have looked at facilities where I live...and that's just it...I've only found facilities which cost much more or scream 'FACILITY'!! Riverside's elegant dining room ambience and separate activities rooms rival brand new places and promote a sense of well being where folks gather to enjoy community parties and good food. I thoroughly ENJOY my visits to Mom as I have gotten to know her neighbors at the table and look forward to seeing them, as well as the staff. Riverside's accommodations, while not brand new, have character and are more spacious than most other places. June and Steve Hall manage the property with Brenda Hightower and are reachable and I have been able to be in close contact, when needed. Activities director, Lisa Burns, has created activities (for example, a formal night where students from the community gain experience with cosmetology in doing hair and makeup) and outings which are varied, stimulating and fun! Chef Jimmy has brought a new and varied menu to the table and I have been able to find options I've enjoyed when visiting. Mom definitely loves the wine & cheese and also the hot chocolate & donuts socials! The onsite home care, Decatur Home Care, provides assistance as needed and the staff has done a good job of communicating to me when Mom has needed more assistance. If I have ever had an issue I've phoned them and been able to discuss matters with the nurse to update them on Mom's current or changing needs.Riverside is HOME. It's location by the river places residents near Decatur community events which can be enjoyed by sitting on the back porch. My mother loves her view of the Tennessee River and the beautiful bridge! I love the fact that my Mom is happy, is treated with dignity and respect even as she ages and declines, and continues to feel at home going into her 10th year of residence!
