Oakwood Manor

Our Father made his home at Oakwood Manor in Oshkosh, WI for 1 year during 2018. We had moved him there from another facility in Oshkosh after a brief stay. Oakwood Manor was clean and well organized. We LOVED Dad's accommodations with the spacious apartment with separate rooms. Dad was always CLEAN, NEAT AND ASSISTED to meals and other activities at Oakwood. Our family had a lot of interaction there with staff and were always pleased with the ATTENTION they gave to Dad. They were very CARING, LOVING AND CONCERNED about their residents. Dad was very smiley and became close to many of the staff. When Dad was dying Oakwood staff were LIKE FAMILY in their concern of Dad and of us. We feel very BLESSED that Dad spent his last season on earth at Oakwood Manor.

My father has been cared for by this excellent compassionate staff for the last eighteen months. The facility is small but clean and convenient. It was also able to care for him to the end of life.

My family had a parent at Oakwood Manor. It is backwards and unprofessional for several reasons.1-There is NO professional staff, NO nurses. Only caregivers and pill pushers, the average age of the caregiver is about 20. The pill pushers do not know the medications, any side effects or what to watch for. They just give the resident their pills. And they don't wash hands between residents!2-The manager of the building is unfriendly and unhelpful. She lacks knowledge and does not know how to give proper or adequate or customer friendly care. There are 2 activities for the residents for a week.3-The building is new but lacks present age technology. There are not enough cable boxes for televisions. There is inadequate number of phone lines. Only so many people can be on the phone at one time. You may not be able to reach a loved one because the lines are tied up. The whole facility and care is poor and below average. The staff often works short handed, and there is a lot of turnover and staff work doubles for days on end to help each other out. Very poorly managed. Would NOT RECOMMEND!!
