Staff is over worked and under paid. 4 cnas to 60 plus residents On most shifts. On a good day. Staff is trying to meet needs of residents but many issues exist, these issues were here long before I got here 5 months ago.

I applied for a job in April, had an interview with the DON Bonnie and the unprofessional interaction was clearly not a great fit for me. Then in September I received a call from the present Administrator Rebecca and was offered the opportunity for Clinical Nurse Manager and I excepted. I explained completely that I did not have management experience in long term care and that I was not wound care certified. I was informed that I would have the training and support needed to preform the role. The years of nursing experience and knowledge would be a great fit.I was there from October to present time. Is that a reasonable amount of time for any new position to become independent ? Maybe ,if I had the training and support needed to fulfill the requirements set by the Corporate Headquarters in LasVegas and the Administration, as was stated when I was offered the position. My first day, State came so everyone was in chaos and confusion. The interim clinical RN left on vacation the first week I was there, so preceptor guidance was almost next to none. Rebecca was fully aware and stated that we will overcome this and that she knew that somethings were set aside so that patients needs were met. From October to after Christmas I was a Social Worker,CNA, floor nurse, ordering supplies, organize and preformed Dr. rounds and completing order entry, transportation for residents appointments, making appointments, etc.I put in hours and hours of resident cares, documentation, correcting order discrepancies, medications missing or not ordered. Just the tip of what needed to be done and what I would try to improve.I feel that I have given 110% and it was never enough. To clarify Pine View Care Center has been struggling for a long time and wound care is a large part of the State survey fallout along with residents and family complaints. So a plan needed to be implemented on how to correct this and I became the fallout. I received a written warning for not having the correct documentation every seven days. I feel that I was thrown under the bus and kicked to the curb. Rebecca stated that I received the education needed and that I deserved this. I did not cause the problems but I was determined to help fix it and make PVCC a great place again. I only wanted to make a difference. I hoped that the administration was behind me and aware of the work attempted to do just that. But it was not enough, I could not get everything done as I was stretched in every direction and not enough in what I was expected to do with wound care coordination and documentation for Corporate. Not with all the other needs that required immediate attention. Always short staffed and missing or broken equipment and supplies needed to preform safe resident care. Working anytime day and night to help anywhere that is needed in any position. Residents, family members and staff counted on me and confided in me. Stating that they can count on me to get them results or answers that they seek.So now a LPN was hired to take my position. Mind you she is also from the same facility that the Administrator and DON comes from. This position was never offered to the nurses in house, it went to a friend. Sad that the ones that has endured the termultuous times are not given the opportunity to rise. Its not what you know, its who you know. Salary paid, Monday through Friday no weekends no on call.Yesterday I was informed that this position was not a great fit for the company and that I was offered the opportunity to be a full time floor nurse. And that the LPN would be taking my position. Really! I did not quit just for the record. In spite of what is being said to you. I do hope for the best for the residents and staff. Im very sorry that I was not able to help enough to make it happen.I know that I am wordy but this is my life.
