Cedar Ridge Center

I have been a resident at Cedar Ridge for two years. I have received excellent care from the CNAs and nurses that are assigned.to the hall my room is on. The therapy department is very good and the social workers are very knowledgeable and solve problems efficiently. All the staff in each department at Cedar Ridge are friendly and work hard at their jobs. On the negative side, the turnover of CNAs and nurses is high and can cause poor care and neglect of residents. Even simple things like getting ice and fresh water are forgotten and call lights are not answered in a timely manner.

To say this place is perfect wouldn't be true, but I can honestly say I truly trust this Facility to take care of one of my most loved and that's my Mom. The staff are so friendly and take good care of her. That strive to keep it clean and to make you feel welcome. They also have kept me so informed when situations arise in the care of my loved one. I also feel very free to discuss things about my mother when I become concerned about her. They encourage her to participate in activities and to have a social life in there. The food is ok could use some tweaking but they try to fix good food. I love the fact they have activities for them throughout the year and encourage families to participate. We always enjoy the Christmas gathering. I am grateful that I found Genesis Healthcare in Sissonvile, WV The healthcare workers strive to treat them like family. Are all of them that way, no, but most of them are. Are there sometimes Personnel Conflict, absolutely, but if you find a NH better that is perfect let me know, because they aren't out there. So I give them a 4 star because there is always room for improvement.
