Keeps employees that disrespect the residents but terminates the employees that love the residents like family. I know from personal experience.

This is an excellent place for family members who are no longer able to take care of themselves. I see a very caring and competent staff when I visit. They have lots of activities throughout the year and my friends mom who lives there is always busy playing scrabble, helping with sewing projects or working puzzles. They have now added a second facility in Woodstock not far from the present location.

Greenfield is a family for your family. And now that our family member has passed, we go back there from time to time and visit with our extended family--the wonderful staff who took such amazing care of him. Know that Vickie Conner, Executive Director at the Woodstock location, was JUST singled out as the BEST DIRECTOR of an Assisted Living facility. Best in the entire United States, that is. My family can attest to how well run, top to bottom Greenfield is and how deserving Vickie is of that honor. Vickie is HANDS ON, in the thick of things and she leads by example with a quiet strength and the highest of expectations for the staff. Susan, who runs the Seasons program, is cut from the same cloth, so to speak, and we will forever be in her debt for her wisdom, kindness and her outreach work, communicating with the rest of our family who live in other parts of the country. so that everyone could have a shared understanding of our father's status. Vickie, Susan and many of the staff were a great comfort to our father and to us in equal measure. They listen. Regardless of the circumstances they always preserve the dignity of those they look after. You can also take your family member or friend out of the facility for an outing--we did this many times. You just need to sign them out responsibly. We also shared many meals there--the food is great. Our father came here last year and the level of care, compassion and attention that he received touched us all deeply. He was in the Seasons Program, which provides specialized care for seniors with greater needs, especially Alzheimer's, which was our situation. The staff helped with every part of his transition. I should say that the facility itself is very modern, warm, clean and inviting. Our father came to love the enclosed courtyard, with peaceful, blooming trees, and many features for the birds. When I write a review I try to think of what I could share that you might not get elsewhere, so I hope this is useful in your decision. Greenfield, and facilities like it, offer some private rooms and also shared rooms, where there is one roommate and a shared bathroom. At first, I was very worried about our dad with a roommate, but I wasn't seeing the world the way he did. We put him on a list for a private room, thinking that would be what he wanted. In a short time one became available, but he wasn't remotely interested. The company of a roommate was good-and it wasn't because they became best friends. He didn't want to be alone, and his roommate eased his transition greatly. There was always someone there.Greenfield was at the top of the list of the recommendations the doctors made for us. Doctors feel more comfortable making a couple of good recommendations, and certainly there are other worthy assisted living situations, but when we pressed our different doctors and clergy for the top choice, it was Greenfield every time. Because they are so well respected--this is where many of the doctors place their own parents- they are very well connected with the medical community and that will certainly prove to be a great asset for you, at some point.Rather than add length to an already lengthy review, I will close saying that I have no professional or personal association with Greenfield, and that I would be happy to speak with anyone who would like more information/details about what our time at Greenfield was like. The administration has my name and number for that purpose.
